Ellis has sores on the pads of his back paws. They first appeared a few days after I brought him home (as an adult cat) but they disappeared. I've had him for about 6 months now, and they have reappeared. They appear as red, raw spots that then scab over and heal. I've only ever seen them on his back paws. Because of the first incident, I think they could be a result of stress, but I never see him licking them unduly and don't know what new stress he could be under now. How can he be getting these and does anyone know what I can do to help them heal and prevent them. Thanks!

Cats can pick up the smallest of stresses. Has anything changed in his lifestyle? Anything that is a change can be really upsetting to a cat, one of mine will have a stress attack if the furniture is moved. Try to think of anything that has been done differently recently.
Another major factor... have you been stressed lately? Cats can pick up on that immediatlely!
Nit-pick everything that has been going on recently, and take him to the vet
Your vet will be able to rule out any health issues as well as help you deal with his stress if that is what it is

Hi, I just joined this forum after running a search for cat paw sores. My cat just now developed similar sounding sores on his back paws as well. However, this is the first time it's happened. Did you ever find out what it was related to or caused from? How did you treat it? Did you visit a vet? Thank you, any help is very appreciated.
