a hypocondriacs rant

Well I am still going through this UTI delemma...gor those of you that don't know I will give you the background...Since I was 18 I have been getting UTI's about every two years...Well About a month and a half ago I got the syptoms of a UTI..I went to the emergency room and they gave me an antibiotic I havent taken before..It didnt do anything..So I went back and they gave me a new one this also didnt do anything..I then got a third one, and my symptoms went away..I went to my dodctor for a follow up, and though I had no symptoms at all they said I still had a UTI.....So they gave me a forth antibiotic..Well as soon as I took it I started getting symptoms again..not bad symptoms just slight burning................
I dont know whats wrong and I dont know what to do...I am so unbelivably frustrated.........I am already such a hypocondriac..and this isnt helping..My only conselation is that it cant be that bad, because due to the length of this supposid UTI I havent gotten sick..No fever no backpain, no vomiting, nothing...just a slight burning that comes and goes....I am soooo frustrated....
John says he knows in his gut that its nothing serious...and his gut is usually 95% right.......I was also reading on the internet about how the problem with giving antibiotics for UTI's is that the bacteria gets smarter.........
Hissy gave me a good idea about grapefruit seed extract, and I plan to get that very soon......
I am just sooo frustrated, and worried, and so fed up with conventional medicine...ever since they misdiagnosed my carpal tunnel as a brain tumor....
Could you guys give me some good vibes, and prayers..........My anxiety attacks have been going off the scale because of this whole ordeal.....and I have seen this boared cure cats, and family members, and all kinds of other stuff......so please help a poor hypocondriac calm down.....

Being a hypochondriac is bad for your health. Have you thought about trying silver water? I am currently using it to cure this bacterial infection because the antibiotics aren't working. A trusted friend swears by this method, and I think the starter kit is around $60.00

Lol hissy I know it is....The irony is that I have a crazy good immune system....Silver water ehe?....where would I beable to purchase such a thing....and definitly let me know id it works..I still have to get that extract you suggested to me......Your the best hissy

thank you fran..Yeah its horrible when the people you pay so much to see dont know whats going on...The carpal tunnel story I have is a real horror story..lol

You guys arent going to belive this...but when I first went into the doctor I told them I had taken some Ecinecia with goldenseal to see if that would help...He told me not to take it, that it was pointless.........
Well guess what I just read.......Eccinecia and goldenseal has been used for centuries by native americans, and european countries to aid in curing UTI's........what the .....ok I give up on conventional medicine.....errrrr

Have you been to see a urologist yet? If not....that would be my advice. Also, if you wear thong underwear....you need to stop. It's been shown that thongs contribute to UTI's because the little "string" is a direct path for bacteria to get into your urethra.

Drink lots of cranberry juice and water and stay well hydrated.

My oldest daughter, who is 21, also suffers from frequent UTI's and she has now also begun to have kidney stones. She was hospitalized three times this past year for stones. One was so large, she had to have the laser surgery to remove it and then had a stent placed in one of her ureters to keep it open.

A urologist might recommend you having a cystoscopy...where they look into your bladder and urinary tract to see if there are any anatomic problems that are causing your UTI's.

Ok Bridget I am about to tell you something that may be what you don't want to hear.

In 1996 I was put in the hospital for a severe kidney infection. Okay no problem there right? Get treated and all is well. Ever since then I have had constant UTI's back to back to back. Anitbotics didn't seem to help as it would clear up and come right back and the burning is always there. I also have constant pain in the lower abdomen bladder area, along with both hips and pains that shoot down my thigh to the knees. Now for the fun part.....NOT! I have a diease of the bladder called Interstitial Cystitis. There is no known cure for this diease and treatments have been more like trial and error for me to find relief.

The reason I am telling you this is it maybe something that you might want to get checked for if you continue to have these UTI's all the time. It took me over 8 years before I finally found a urologist that even suspected what was wrong with me and didn't think that it was all in my head, therefore I have a severe case of IC and it's hard to treat because of that.

Not trying to give you heart faliure or anything like that here just wanting to let you know that if they tell you it's "All in your head" after a period of time like they did me, it might be IC. But do seek help from another if you continue to have those nasty UTI's all the time with no relief from antibotics.

I am sorry I sound so negative hear, I am a little bitter about the way that I was treated over the years by doctors. I would hate to hear of another person being treated like that, as it wasn't a pleasent experience at all. I hope that you feel better real soon.

Fawn UTI's are Urinary Tract Infections. I have had them back to back for over 8 years. Now I know that it wasn't just infections all the time but the Interstitial Cystitis which has all the symptoms of UTI's but isn't one.

Bridget, I take Cran-max everyday. I have alot of medicine I take for my seizures and I get yeast infections so I started taking that and haven't had one since. You might want to try that. I might help..

I had a UTI twice. The 1st time I didn't know what it was and waited until I was in intense pain to go to the doctor. Antibiotics cleared it up. The 2nd time I started drinking cranberry juice at the first sign. It went away. You may want to try it as a prevention method.

Tahnk you everyone for your kind words and advice I will definitly talk to who ever i can to take care of this crazy mess....The funny thing is that its not really bothering me...if it burns it is minor, other then that it doesnt seem like anything is wrong......I dont know.........Actually by you all telling me your stories I kinda feel better......thanx...and I will keep you updated....

thanx sam...I am actually feeling a lot better now......I have been taking ecinecia like crazy...irs supposed to help with UTI's...but if it doesnt help that at least its repairing my immune system that i am sure has crashed with all the antibiotics i have been taking..........

I have been on a combo of echinecia (to help my immune system), goldenseal (to clean my system), Cranberry pills(to help my UT), and Grapefruitseed extract(to kill the bacteria), and of course a half a gallon of water a day......and ya know what I am really starting to feel better...since i have been on this extract cocktail I have definitly felt an improvement, and have been getting better and better everyday!!!!!!!......If this doesnt fully kill it off, but i think it might, I will try the Silver Water.....I am so happy, and soooo through with conventional medicine.......thanx guys for your support and prayers...I love you all..I will keep you updated
