What to feed an Australian Cat - an Aussie Perspective

Hey there,

i have two little kitties whom i currently feed whiskas kitten singles and Purina One Kitten Formula. I am not sure what is considered best in Oz for Kittens and Cats?

Any other Aussies know something about this? Also, can you tell me WHERE to get the best foods - some Woolworths/Coles etc dont stock all types of cat food......

I also use whiskas kitten singles. These are "ok" - nothing special, but I find my boys stomach them ok (beef and chicken only, they had upset tummies with the salmon and bream, and dont like chicken and tuna).

I have been feeding them Eukanuba and Iams kitten dry food - but I am just about to switch to the Royal Canin Young Male forumla.

Purina One is ok as far as supermarket stuff goes, but the Euk/Iams/RC is definately better quality, particularly if you're going to be feeding Whiskas wet food.

I buy my stuff from City Farmers - but I have a feeling they are WA based only. You must have some similar equivalent though. It's like a warehouse type store that sells pet & garden stuff. Maybe try some of the larget pet shops in your area?
