Hey, my cat got spayed yesterday and when I got her home she had a slight wet sock smell. I went to work and came back, and she was in my bedroom the entire day so she wouldn't get hurt, and upon opening my door, the smell has gotten a bit stronger.

I don't ever recollect a cat smelling like this in my life, but any possible guesses to where it's coming from and/or what the cause is? Could it be the anesthetics they used on her?

I would call you vet to be safe. He should do a follow-up vet vist at no charge. I am not sure what would make a wet sock smell- is she leaking stool? She could have an infection

Darn, I shoulda' asked him while I was there this afternoon making an appointment. I actually just adopted the cat and she came home yesterday. She hasn't eaten much, but she is eating a little here and there, and she hasn't gone number 2 yet, but she went number 1 twice.

Mebbe it's the drugs I'm giving her, I'm giving her an antibiotic twice a day...

No offense, but I have given plenty of antibiotics in my day and never had such a smell result because of it. I would call your vet and get his opinion-

I think I found the problem. Kitty went number one on the pillow I gave her to sleep on, and it was a bit soggy...
Put the pillow in the laundry hamper and now only kitty smells slightly of smelly sock.

Well good, I am glad you solved it. I was concerned about the smell-
