I borrowed a trap last night and as soon as I pulled in my driveway I saw the black and white cat I have been feeding.I came in to get some bait for the trap and when I went back out he was out there waiting...I set the trap and within minutes he was caught....I believe that was the easiest trapping I have ever done.....I guess he is going to make up for how hard it is going to be to catch the feral momma I have been trying to catch for years.
He has been giving my neighbor's a hard time to go...or should I say their cats....they have 4 cats(all fixed)and this guy was going under their house every night picking fights with them....But hopefully now he will calm down a little and stop being such a bully.
I swear he doesn't seem to be too feral..When I first caught him he of course went nuts and was growling...but then he calmed down and didn't seem too bad....but I still didn't take any chances...I didn't get him out of the trap to sedate him...we just stuck him through the cage and after he went down we got him out and he got neutered.
I have him in a big cage in the house for now..he peed in his other cage right before I left to come home and he STINKS!!!!LOL.I took a wet rag and tried to clean him off the best I could while he is still groggy and before I put him in his clean cage.I will keep him in for a few days until I can try to catch feral momma cat.I have to return the trap on Saturday so I will keep him in until then just so I can up my chances of getting the right cat in the trap.I am planning on just buying a trap in the next couple of weeks when my school refund check comes in.
Anyway...I just wanted to tell everyone that I got one more fixed...

Excellent work on getting this guy fixed. You probably already know this but since you are going to keep him a few days, expect a very strong "male" stink with his urine. I had to keep one for a few days to give him antibiotics and every time I went to feed/check him - the odor about knocked me off my feet!

Good luck with the feral momma!

Oh Yeah I know all about that horrible stench.
I hope I don't have any company for a few days.My whole house STINKS.LOL.
I had another class today so I had to leave him in his carrier at our tech building and when I went to pick him up about an hour later the whole building stunk...I knew he must have peed in the carrier and they had moved him to the back of the building because the smell was about to make everyone sick...The farther to the back of the building I got the worse it smelled....LOL.
Oh well...it's not the first time I have had to smell tom cat urine for a few days and I know it won't be the last.LOL.

Here are a couple of pics of him.....he is still groggy

And here is Big Daddy...the tom I trapped last year and neutered and then found out he belonged to my neighbor's...Oops.LOL.But he looks sooooo much like Big Daddy it isn't even funny.

Plus my Oreo I have had for about 3 years looks a LOT like Big Daddy as well....Big Daddy has half a moustache and a white patch on his back and this feral has a half moustache but no white patch on back...and my Oreo has No moustache and a white patch....So I think Big Daddy has been fathering kittens for quite some time....

Oh yeah here is my Oreo

At the kitty's beck and call
Let us know when you're putting the trap out for feral momma - we'll send vibes your way.

I think you're right about Big Daddy kitty - we used to have one round here years ago like that - in fact he got our little cat pregnant just before she was due to be spayed (along with every other unneutered female in the neighbourhood). He was a very distinctive black and white long-haired fluffy cat and there were so many long-haired shaggy looking kittens around - he'd clearly been doing the rounds
. At least you took Dad out of circulation

Your black and white kitty is a lovely looking cat - but clearly very groggy and a bit scared
.

Well...I have a bit of news...the black/white kitty is not feral...I have no clue who he belongs to but oh well...
Right after I caught him I called the neighbor's that I knew had a black/white cat and asked if by chance this was their cat and not the one I fixed last year and he told me that no I had already neutered his cat.
I thought he acted pretty good the night I caught him,but I didn't want to take a chance on opening the trap and getting tore up if he was feral(he would always BOLT when I opened the door when he was out eating)Plus if he had been mean I would have had to try to get him back into a carrier or something because the trap would have been harder to put him into...then I would have had more trouble sedating him had he been in a carrier and not a trap..

Oh well.....he is neutered now...but I would not have ear tipped him had I known he was tame. Now I just wish I knew who he belonged to.I still think Big Daddy is his daddy.

I set my trap last night hoping to catch the feral momma...but all I caught was a rat(which I made Mike go out and release...YUCK...it freaked and tried to squeeze its head through the hole and got hung...it was so gross)I reset it and this morning my feral I spayed last year was in the trap...so I let the poor girl out and she ran away so fast I could her her little feet pounding the ground as she ran...Poor girl...

I really need to catch this momma soon before she gets preganant AGAIN.**sigh**
