Okay - its getting near that time again - I dont think we will bother much - have been together 11 years in March and married 9 then! After that much time, its hard for Carol to not know who a card is from!!!
Carol wants me home for more than a night for valentines day - well I have just come home from the south coast and am shattered. So - am off to bed and get some much needed sleep. Heck, Carol tells me the hotel staff know her voice when she calls me on an evening. The staff are also on first name terms with me... so I intend to be home on valentines day - whats your plans?

Glad you get to be home on Valentine's! That's great.

I don't think I'll get to see my bf at all that day. Well, maybe for a quick lunch break if we're lucky. He gets done with work at 5pm but at 4:45 I have to leave for class. I get done at 8:30... but at 8pm he has to go work at his other job until 11pm.

Oh and apparently one of my co-workers (the one I despise) wants me to come in at 9pm to work his shift so he can do something special with his girlfriend. Sigh... no fair at all. I'm really sad about it, especially because it's one of my favorite holidays, but I guess it's not that big of a deal.

I remember you posting about this holiday at Christmas time and how it was one of your favorite holidays. (All those pink colors.
) It is a big deal to you. Maybe you could celebrate it a few days early? Or a few days late? After all, it isn't the EXACT day, because across the world, Sam will have hers earlier than on our side of the world. Just pretend that the day you can celebrate it is your own personal Valentines Day.

Besides, you have a boyfriend who loves you. I remember spending many Valentines Days alone, and that is even worse than being too busy to celebrate it on the general public's day. And hopefully, next year, you can be right on schedule.

Is it wrong that it's a big deal to me? I always feel dumb for liking it so much. And this year it's more special to me because I have someone who's so great for me, who I *really* love...

Anyway, my bf is going to TRY to get the night off. I'm not sure about celebrating it on a different day, our schedules are so pathetically different... but there IS always next year...

John and I tend not to celebrate Valentine's day. We feel that everyday is a day to celebrate our love and we don't put much stock in what we consider to be an excuse to by cards and candy. Plus, if the baby isn't here then I will be induced on that day, and that will definately not be romantic! Wonderful yes, romantic, no!

I'll be sitting at home angry at the fates keeping us apart. He's been on a business trip since forever!!!! He left in the fall, had a car accident, went into the hospital for a short time. Since it wasn't serious, the company kept him out there! We've been paying rent on his empty NY apartment. The water, gas and electricity is turned off.

i don't really celebrate vday. My birthday is 2 days before so it's kind of hard for the guy in my life, and by the 14th I'm worn out of love and attention anyhow
We'll probably grab a bite to eat and watch a movie but I can't see us giving gifts or anything.. I don't think of it as any different than any other day.

No plans here - hubby has late shift that evening, and we generally don't bother much, anyway. Maybe I'll bake something.

Well... Valentine's day will be the 5th anniversary of the day that my exboyfriend and I met and it will be the first Valentine's day that I will be spending by myself... I really don't have any plans... I'll be working during the day and then, Adrian and I might get together at night to start a bonfire of stuff that reminds us of our exes and get drunk... It's gonna be a really bad day...

No plans here, except getting a CT scan of my sinuses in the morning and seeing my ENT later in the day. Maybe I'll pick up a pre-made meal and a movie.

I almost feel guilty
for posting this because so many of you are not looking forward to it.

We will be having a romantic dinner
(not sure what yet - maybe fresh tuna or fondue) with strawberries and whipped cream for dessert and a bottle of really good red wine
I've been saving since my birthday in September.

We are having dinner at our own table for several reasons, but especially because we just got our apartment repaired recently after a lot of hurricane damage. It's only been about a week that we've been able to see the table because we were living out of boxes and had the stuff we needed to use every day on the table.

We will dance to the classic rock songs that we love - The Beatles, Stones, T-Rex, Greatful Dead, etc. all by ourselves.

As far as gifts go...it will have to be something cheap
haven't figured out what yet.

I hope all of your Valentines Days are great - even if you don't expect it.

Jeeperscat, I LOVE the card!

We are going to dinner at the restaurant DH and I got engaged at, but we have no additional plans as of yet. We're not very good at coming up with "romantic" plans. With it being on a Monday we can't be out that late (we both get up for work very early), and we're going to start moving into our new apartment on the 15th.

Exciting, aren't we?

No, it's not wrong! and you're not dumb. Anyone who can figure out riddles is a smart person.

I hope your bf can work his schedule out.

That's what makes me smart? Solving riddles? Lol!

Me too... so far I DON'T have to work at night so that's a start.

This year we've been married for 20 years (together for 22) and we still celebrate Valentine's day - so don't worry Ari and Rockcat - you're not alone. We don't do anything flamboyant, have a meal at home together and a bottle of wine or something.
