My older niece wanted me to ask about this...

One of her kitties has a bad plastic allergy. She has switched the food and water bowl from plastic to ceramic and that has helped greatly but there's still a problem with the litter box. I can't think of anything she can use for that which is not plastic
.... any ideas?

you can use a rubber drip pan, or even a large feeding bowl that you feed horses and calves in. Must be a bad allergy if the cat is allergic to their litter pan!

This could end up being expensive but how about a metal cake/bar pan. It will rust however.

How about making a wooden pan or box? You can line the bottom with a rubber mat to prevent humidity seeping into the wood and then change it regularly with the litter.
