I have learned that other people's greed and selfishness doesn't stop me from making a difference.

I have learned that my mother is the best friend I could ever have, and I will cherish every second that I get with her.

I have learned that older people have great wisdom and love to share, they just need someone who is willing to listen.

I have learned that goals and dreams are not as great if you don't fail every once in awhile.

I have learned that age is nothing but a number, and love to share my world with people of all ages.

Most importantly, I have learned how to love without limits, and how to live without regrets.

How about being able to sit on the grass and just enjoy it's softness and the smell of it after it's been mown? I remember that as a kid and the smell of grass always takes me back (although our current grass is itchy).

When I go for walks or even drive in the country I try to smell the fresh air. I love the smell of plants and wet earth.

Ok, so I'm thinking my last post sounded a bit grouchy lol. So here's to make up for it!

I've noticed:
*my nephew gets cuter by the day!! And hes' finally learning that I'm a nice person lol (before he always kind of hid from me, b/c I don't see him everyday, only a couple times a month)
*people really like getting stuff in the mail (besides bills!)
*all seasons are great in their own way (except summer w/ the bugs and the heat! lol just my opinion
)
*if you can get up early enough, sunrises are awesome! On the other hand, if you can get out to see it, sunsets are wonderful too!
*the northern lights are wonderful to see....I could sit outside for hours (as long as it's not too cold out!) just watching how they change all the time
*my roommate is the greatest!
*my mom is an awesome person, even tho we are so much alike we don't always see eye to eye on everything
*Some ppl are always willing to take a chance on you if you give them a reason to believe in you.
*Friends are the greatest ppl I know, even ones you haven't personally met!!
Well I think that's all for now.....hope this one sounds better!

Alright here's another:

There used to be a time when you purchased an item and brought it to a cashier to ring it up on the register and put it in the bag. Now, you can scan your own, and even if they scan it you bag your own groceries.

And another one:

There's a line for everything. For example:

I go to a Doctor's office to make an appointment in one line. While I'm there I ask directions to where to get the MRI I was told I needed. This person tells me to go to the next line and she'll give you the directions. Now mind you, this person was literally 3 feet away from where she was standing. So instead of walking sideways 3 steps, I simply called over to the other woman to give me directions. Well the first lady just gave me a look like "How dare you!!!!!"

And still another:

Men used to have short hair and wear pants
Women used to have long hair and wear dresses

No men have long hair and wear earrings
Women have short hair and wear pants

On the gender thing:

it used to be you always could tell a man from a woman and vice versa....

nowadays you're lucky if you can do it after staring at them long enough (in some cases).

The things I've noticed:

~ "Mommy's" never go out of style (ie you still need them no matter what age)
~ There's no greater place than the town I grew up in
~ Children turn out beautifully when their parents join in on playtime (outside or inside)
~ Saying a simple "Thank you" really does brighten someone's day
~ Addressing people by their name, even if it's on a telephone help line, creates a friendlier atmosphere
~ There are 10 good seeds for every bad 1, the bad just stand out more than the good, and people aren't willing to look hard enough
~ Smiling at someone who passes will almost always put a warm feeling in their hearts
~ Laughing, whether there's something funny or not, is the best medicine for a sour mood
~ The people who really care about you won't care about your frizzy hair, or if they see you in your underwear, or how often you cry to them
~ Embarassing moments more often than not turn into hilarious memories
~ Taking time away to spend with nature is an essential at least once a year
~ The ocean is where I belong
~ Family means more than anything
~ A brother is your best friend
~ No matter how badly you feel, there is something in your life to feel grateful for

Can't say that one has ever happened to me. There's still baggers everywhere I go.

How about this challenge...instead of what's bad, let's see what's good that we've noticed along the way.

Here, I'll start:
~I've noticed that the trust of a friend makes me feel good.

Now you...

I wholeheartedly agree Michele. It's easy to focus on the bad, but with so much good in life why would you want to? Everyone should stop focusing on what's wrong, and focus on what's right. Because there's a lot that's right. Most of what's wrong even isn't a widespread thing, it's just that the negative always glares stronger than the positive.

I've noticed that everyone on here is a wonderful person.

The main thing I notice is the lack of connection with nature. I've worked with my office on the umpteenth floor of some high rise and sometimes I just found myself longing to walk under trees barefooted at lunch. (Look--the barefooted suit! Lock her up!!!)

People forget so quickly that the world and us are not seperate, but part and parcel of each other.

~I've noticed that meeting friends for lunch makes me smile the whole day; before in anticipation, and afterwards in memories.

Financial institutions have come up with lots of new ways to cheat people out of their money-- and it's all perfectly legal.

We still don't have flying cars (in the 70's I thought we would).

Big Brother IS watching us.

The internet is a wonderful thing, but it has dangers.

The special effects in movies have improved tremendously.

The vegan population has been steadily increasing.

Politicians don't have to hide their indiscretions as much anymore.

Now, people become stars because of loose behavior (Paris Hilton). Rob Lowe sure didn't catch any breaks for what he did in the 80's.

ID theft and phishing scams were pretty much unheard of before the 90's.

I think people look more closely at the bad things because the post is "what you noticed along the way", that kind of makes me think of things that are different than they used to be,,although I know that is not what that has to mean, but thats how i think of it,, and the really good things stay good, there will never be a day in the world where you will be disgusted at a smile or a compliment or etc,,or I atleast hope not,,that's definitley not a world i want to be in,, but I am glad that there was so happy stuff on here,,,it makes me smile.
