I like that one.

I don't really have a motto per se, but I read this once and it has stuck with me ever since:
"You get what everyone gets. You get a lifetime."
(From "The Sandman", an awesome comic by Neil Gaiman.)

A couple others:

"It's a permanent full moon on the Internet." -- Geoff Tognetti
"Friends help you move. Real friends help you move bodies." -- unknown

My favorite saying is:

Uh huh, Uh huh, Uh huh, SURE!

I am usally saying this when my boss is telling me to do something.......

I listen and then do it the way I want anyway!

Ooh, Neil Gaiman fan! Which story arc is that from, and is it Death talking? It's going to drive me up the wall.

OT-Have you seen "1602" by Neil Gaiman? The idea is Marvel Silver Age superheroes are in Elizabethan England. If you like Gaiman you'll like this, too.

It is, indeed, said by Death. Thought it was in one dedicated to Death but my husband says it's from "The High Cost of Living".

No, I don't think I've seen that. Generally our comics dealer puts any Gaiman stuff in our box; maybe he did but I'm WAY behind on my comic book reading.

When you are worried about the outcome of something, my motto would be..
"Do your best, & leave the rest to faith."

Mine used to be `Never complain, never explain' but it's waaaay too unrealistic to try to live like that!! Besides, in hindsight it's a stupid concept anyway...

Now it is just `Make life easier'. I have a really bad habit of making things difficult for myself by being disorganised, or forgetful or lazy or whatever, so I try to do what I can to make life easier and it's amazing how much it cuts down your stress levels (when you can do it!

Because I get a charge out of the offbeat, I enjoy quotes from the "Demotivational Series":

Procrastination: Hard work often pays off after time, but laziness always pays off now.

Ineptitude: If you can't learn to do something well, learn to enjoy doing it poorly.

Stupidity: Quitters never win. Winners never quit. But those who never win and never quit are losers.

Failure: When your best just isn't good enough.

Defeat: For every winner, there are dozens of losers. Odds are you're one of them.

Mistakes: It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

Mediocrity: It takes a lot less time, and most people won't notice the difference until it's too late.

Losing: If at first you don't succeed, failure may be your style.

I used to keep these inside a closet in my classroom and looked at them whenever I needed a laugh.

My personal motto? Sarcasm: just one more service that we offer.
