Feral in need of vet care

We have a feral cat that comes into our home through a dog/cat door. If he comes through when we are still awake, he will still walk through growling the whole way to the food bowl.

My concern is that the side of his face is swollen so much that his eye is closing. He still eats but you can tell he has lost weight, he was fattening up pretty good there for a while.

Are there places in San Antonio Texas that will provide pro-bono for ferals? I would hate for him to be in pain and not try to do something but at the same time, I cannot spend a lot of money on a cat that is not mine. I hope that doesn't sound cruel. I have 4 pets of my own, for which I have insurance.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

There is a feral cat meet up group in San Antonio...have you tried contacting the other members to see if they know of any places you can get this cat looked at:

I had found the feral cat coalition and sent an email, still no response. I will try to call tomorrow and will definitely check out the other sites now.
