Our cat(male,9 yrs.,neutered),was diagnosed a week and a half ago(after many tests),as having crystals in his urine. We think that was taken care of and I say "we think" because he still smells so strongly of urine that I'm wondering if he really is cured and how in the world we can eliminate his "odor".I thought that "well" cats bathed themselves. What should I do?Thankfully,he is using his litter box and his appetite has returned.

First congardulations for catching it early - since this can be fatal in male cats if left untreated.

Just keep an eye on him and if his behaviour changes in any way - give your vet a call. In any case maybe you might want to discuss your concern with the vet for peace of mind.
