At 10:30 am today me and my fiancee were drinving around trying to locate a stray we care for(just posted a thread on her). We were going down a road adn all of a sudden I see a younge girl holding a cat with a yellow rope tied to the cat, As we were passing the the child I seen that the cat was TIED to the tree with a two foot rope or less. I CAN'T BELIVE THAT THEY WOULD DO THAT!!!!!! That poor cat is at the mercy of that child!!! NO SUPERVISION AT ALL OF ANY ADULT! Me and my fiancee will be going by tonight to see if the cat is still tied up. Trust me if it is Freedom will be given to the poor thing. And the child was handling the cat rough.

Sorry for the yelling but I hate to see that happen here.

That's such a shame!

Poor cat has no escape route should it need one!

And the child doesn't know better! Just learns from mom and dad! How awful!

I hope you can go set the kitty free tonight! If you see it again call animal control or the police...that's abuse! This poor kitty deserves a better home!

I agree, this is cruelty to animals! Is there any way you could contact authorities or the parents if you come back and the cat isn't there? You're right, that child learned that behavior from someone. I will never be able to understand why people harm the innocent. Keep us posted on the kitty. Good luck in freeing it!

poor thing. i would try to get the local authority (we have the rspca is your the spca?) to speak to the parents. they may not realise its cruel and would probably take any criticsim better from them.

How awful for that poor cat!! Yes, the blame is on the parents, and hopefully your area has some authority who can investigate for you. If not, it might be better for the cat (although it places a tremendous burden, not to mention might be considered theft) if it were rescued from the situation all together. It sounds like the child hasn't been taught/shown proper love and affection, which is another sad statement. If the authorities do get involved, it might be rough for the family at first, but maybe they will receive some much needed counseling. Please keep us posted! We're on your side (and the side of the poor kitty!!)

Ashley, please keep us updated about this! I hope the girl gets reprimanded about this, or her parents punished for not teaching her the right way of caring for cats! I hate news like these!

We never got a chance to go to that house last night
, Robert had to work very late on account of the super bowl. He works at Dominos Pizza, delivering pizza's. He got out so late that he was about to pass out while driving to pick me up. So I had to drive(no drivers license
) home fast. We are going today. I hope the kitty is ok! If he/ she is still there im slicing the rope. FREEDOM! is going to be in order.

Ashely
