is he neutered?

phew. I just took in a, what appears to be, male cat. well, as most of you whohave been following me know I have also taken in a female siamese. well the male, after I took him in from the wet, gave him a bath, and dried him off...as soon as he saw the female he ran to her,bit the back of her neck and mounted her. The siamese didn't fight him off so I know they weren't fighting. I quickly removed him and put him back in my room.

Would neutered males act in this manner?
say he wasn't neutered, would he mount the female if she wasn't spayed? Can an unneutered male tell the difference between a spayed and a non spayed cat, or are they horny 24/7 and don't care what they mount?

Thanks everyone.

Abra....please take your male to the vet....sometimes neutered males will still try to mount females...but if your female is intact and you don't know if the male is neutered, I would definately keep them separated until you can get him to the vet.

Abra,

I think you just got your answer. He sounds to me like he has not been neutered. hile neutered cats will occasionally spray to mark their territory when they are feeling threatened or stressed, unneutered cats will spray almost all of the time, and the odor is a lot more overpowering than that from a fixed cat. You will want to get him neutered asap, especially if your female hasn't been spayed yet.

Please take your male to the vet. Our desexed boy tries to mount our entire girls. I think you will find he's entire if he's spraying, although some desexed boys do spray too. Your best bet is a vet visit though.
