I was wondering if anyone had any advice about making the change from kitten food to adult food. Skit is 10 months old so we are going to have to start thinking about changing his food in the next few months. My problem is that Jett and Jack are 8 months old and still have a while to go before we have to switch their food. Would it be better to wait and switch them all at the same time or should I go ahead and switch the older one when he turns a year old? I'm worried that the younger kittens might get into his adult food. Also, my hubby and I debate over wet food. How much should I give them wet food and how often? I don't want them to get bored with their food but I don't want them to get picky or worse get stomach problems. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you!

It would probably be easiest to switch them all over at once, though I think you'll find that while some people switch their kitties over to adult food at 12 months, others do it at around 10 months. Either way, I doubt it'll harm the younger ones if they eat some adult food at 10 or 11 months, or Skit if he eats some kitten food at 13 months.
As to wet food - how much to give them depends on the type of food, i.e., the feeding instructions. Jamie is a dry-food fan, but I insist that his evening meal be canned food. Previous cats we had got canned food only. Some cats have dry food available at all times, and are still given canned twice a day. It realy depends on your cats' preferences, weights, eating habits, etc..

Thanks for the advice. I think it might be easier to switch them all at once too. They like to nibble during the day so I always leave food out for them when I'm at work, and they are still pretty active so I'm not worried about them overeating at this point. I'm like you though, I think they should have wet food every once in a while. Maybe I could give them some in the evenings. Thankfully I've never had any problems with their eating habits. I hope that continues.

I appreciate it!

I think Tricia gave you great advice, I don't really have anything to add
