If you've followed my other thread, I just had to put down my 17year old FIV+ cat on Wednesday. We had all 4 of our fosters get adopted out in January. My poor daughter is just beside herself with all the babies leaving. I got a message today from the rescue, they have a pregnant mama cat that is too far along to be spayed. My daughter has been asking for a pregnant mom cat since last summer. She will be so thrilled when I tell her tonight. I hope having the miracle of new life will help me to cope with the loss of my beloved Annalyssa.

It will. Alot. After the tragic loss of Tommy to FELV in July and Sheba Sept 26 I got Bakker in November. That really helped me-even though I still get sad when he does something that reminds me of Sheba.

Emma was "sent" to me a week before my beloved Katie passed away. She's a true angel.

I'm sorry you lost your friend of 17 years. I only had Katie for 6 and still think of her every day. It does get a little easier to bear. Emma has helped with that. Your new mom will, too.

Good luck!

You know what's amazing? God does, indeed, work in mysterious ways. Our hearts must be open to the experience, but when they are, miracles abound.

I think maybe that Annalyssa had a word with the St. Guardian Angel of All Kitty Cats...and she said "I know my human beans' hearts are hurting...and there's this really pregnant cat who needs the love they gave me for years. Can you organize it so they meet? And maybe get a furrever home or two for them? I know I'm new here, and I still miss my Meowmee and her daughter. But a better heart could not be found. How about it, hrm??????"

Matter of fact, I think that's exactly what happened. Congratulations, and I am indeed sorry that you're separated from Annalyssa...but know she's still looking out for you, like you looked out for her all these years.

Blessed be.

Best-
Michele

Certainly we don't want to sweep the memories of your precious girl under the rug, but how special is it that you can give a new home to a Mama and babies!!! Bless you!

I agree, God does work in mysterious ways. Last year I had to put one of my 2 kitties asleep because of FIP and it was awful. I had never gone through that before. But a couple of months later we took in 2 black kittens and they are a tremendous joy to us. So in loosing one kitty we gained two. We will always miss Hobbes but I came to accept that these 2 black kitties were destined to be with us and we saved them from a bad life. It's wonderful to hear of some good news.

Thank you Michele, that was beautiful. It turns out that Chloe (what we've dubbed her) looks just like Nemo.
