My cat was neutered one week ago. Since then he doesn't eat like he did before... not that he is barely eating or anything.

Before he was neutered, he would eat three 85g cans of cat food per day and still be begging for our leftovers.

Since he was neutered, he doesn't eat all his food. He usually eats about half of his breakfast, half of his lunch but his whole supper.

Is this a normal change for after neutering? This is by no means my first cat but none of them ever changed at all after neutering.

I have no idea, but my Billy is getting neutered on Tuesday... I'll let you know how he reacts, and if it's similar to your cat's reaction!
Hope all goes well!

SunflowerGirl, call your vet and ask. My cats never had a change in appetite after neutering.

I had two babies neutered 2 weeks ago today and the vet said the first thing they did as soon as they were allowed was wolf a bowl of food! They certainly haven't slowed down since then, they have enormous appetites and eat every meal immediately it is served without coming up for breath.

How old is he? Mine are 6 months old and they do seem to eat a lot more than my 18 month old adult male, which I tend to put down to them being growing boys. I think they might slow down a bit when they've finished growing, but if they do I would expect it to be gradual not a sudden change.

Have you changed food? My adult male will eat his favourite food up immediately, when availability forces me to buy a less favoured one he will pick at it as though he's not really enjoying it, but hunger forces him to eat it.

As changes in normal habits are often indications that something could be wrong, I'd be inclined to pop him back. My babies had a one week check thrown in with the op - does he have to go back at all?
