I just found out today that a friend of mine OD'd on heroin a few days ago. He didnt make it..........
I haven't seen brad in a while, and will not be able to attend the service, but his life and death have got me thinking..........
Brad had a heart of gold, and a really good soul, though it was hard to see this when distracted by his past actions.
Brad spent time in jail due to drugs, and the drugs continued after he got out. He seemed so tormented, but he hid it well behind that smile, and his irrisistable giggle. He would try so hard to get back on track, but just as it seemed he would get past this darkness it pulled him back in.
Brad had a smile so big you could see his soul, a beautiful soul, yet his heart was so full of saddness. 24 years of saddness, that ends with him alone in his apartment... Its so sad, while at the same time coming as a relief. I think this may have been for the best. God can take care of him now, make him happy, clean his slate and send him back minus the heavy heart.........
Maybe it is cruel to say but I am happy for him, he can find a peace now in death that he would never be able to find in life

RIP Brad and god bless you

Bridget, sometimes it is the secrets we keep that ultimately destroy us. I will pray that Brad does indeed find in death what he couldn't find in life. It does sound like he did find a good friend in you-

Bridget, my condolences to the loss of your friend Brad. I sit here thinking about what exactly the words Rest In Peace mean. I believe that these words are truely fitting for this man that was your friend. I hope you find comfort that Brad is, after his struggles in life, just that, resting in peace.

Amen, Mom of Franz, and for all of you who made such great comments.

Bridget, I am sorry for your loss, but I am happy for your friend, who is now at peace.

I'm glad that you have chosen to remember the good in him. I think all too often, people mourn the death and forget to celebrate the life and how they touched you.

I'll say a prayer for you, Brad and his family.

It is all any of us can hope for - that when we go, our friends and family will remember the good in us and forget the bad. My sympathies and I hope you can remember him as a loyal ad good friend.

Bridget, I'm so very sorry you lost your friend.
You saw through the walls Brad hid behind, through the facade of cheer he attempted to convey, and the actions with which he managed to push so many away. You cared for your dear friend for the person he really was, deep down inside. Brad was so fortunate to have had you in his life. Hopefully he has now found the peace for which he sought while here on Earth. You must really be hurting now, Bridget. I pray that you feel comfort in your troubled heart during this difficult time, and you know I'm right here when you feel like talking.
