OK, let's see if A) anyone is interested
and B) this works . . . .

I'd like to pose a riddle. It's one of those riddles where the guessers ask yes or no questions (like, "was he wearing purple?") and the riddler answers. Now, I'm really hoping some of you know the answer to this riddle, and can help answer the questions, otherwise this is going to be like one of those chess games that lasts a year because there is only one move per day . . .

So, if you've heard this one, feel free to answer the yes or no questions posed by others. If you haven't, ask away. Again, we'll see if anyone is interested and if this works!

The riddle is stated simply, and the details are filled in by your questions. The riddle is:
A man is found dead in a cabin. How did he die?

Everyone is saying "THAT'S a RIDDLE????" Yes, it is. You'll see. If anyone plays, that is!!

Ooooh! Interesting question. For the purposes of answering the riddle, the length of time the man had been dead does not actually matter. I could have just given you an answer, and let you think it was critical to the riddle (like the person who posed me this riddle did) but I'm not that mean! If the question isn't important to the riddle, I'll just say so, so you can try a different tack.

Yikes! Indiana! You're up even later than me! Hee Hee!

Slumped in a chair in the cabin.

I have to work (rats!), but I'll check in the morning before I leave and when I get home. I'm in the field tomorrow, so I can't check at lunch. Post a list, if you want!

Now, I've been answering pretty freely, due to the limitations of the post-and-then-wait problem . . . but remember, I'm not supposed to answer any questions that can't be responded to with a "Yes", "No" or "Not important" answer. So, to rephrase in a way I could answer you could ask "Was he found on the floor? In a chair?" And I'd say no, and then yes. Okey dokey?

Emphatic yes.

In case anyone wonders about that answer, no, this isn't some gory riddle worthy of Steven King!

Was there a look of horror in his eyes?

Was he tied up?

Did HE have stab wounds?

Was there another dead body as well?

A look of horror . . .?!
Not important for the riddle, but I suppose for literary effect we could say "Yes".

No, he was not tied up. Interesting question! You might try a rephrase or asking from another angle (metaphorically speaking) and see what you get

No, he had no stab wounds.

No, there was no other dead body.

The first is difficult to answer
, but I'm going with "Yes".

No, there was no gun in his hand.

No, there was no suicide note.
