Would you?

I most likely wouldn't. I love Princess and Orei just the way the are. Plus, they're talkative enough!

One reason cats are such great friends is because they can't speak. They can't complain, they can't boss you around, (except for Princess) and they can't yell at you, or ask you what's wrong.

Thats so true Jenny, I don't know if I would give them the ability to speak, but hey, what if they can and its people who just aren't good enough to hear them?

Clear your PM box my dear!

I enjoy the conversations that i have with them meowing back at me so i would rather have that than hear them speak, although i would love to know what their saying?!.

Oh yes! Jenny did you get my pm back through?!

Same here, I love cats. Shenandoah tries to boss me, but Humble is just that: Humble.

I love the way cats meow when they're trying to talk to you, so I wouldn't want them to actually speak. Instead, I wish we had a translator. Apparently, there are electronic translators available for dogs in Japan, but until there is one that truly works for cats, I think women are the best translators on the market.
I'm a sucker for that.

Certainly! I want to know what makes them truly happy and if they could actually tell me, I would do anything to give it to them.

Actually, I wish all animals could speak to us. Maybe then, we wouldn't have so many cases of animal cruelty.

That would certainly be interesting.
I will take Sash just the way he is though
I just love his "way" of talking. I love everytime he goes.......hmmm to me. He certainly communicates to me and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Grace: "Can I eat now?" - "Where are the treats?" - "Open the pouch, please!" - "What are you eating?" - "Give me some of that!" - "I'm hungry."

Mac: "Would you stop hugging me so tightly." - "I'm NOT your baby!" - "I need to open this door - NOW!" - "The litter box needs attending to immediately!" - "Where's my boy, Ed?"

Emma: "Come stir my kibble, please." - "Pet me now!" - "Make Grace stop picking on me." - "Make Mac stop picking on me." - "I love you, Amie!"

I'd love to hear what they have to say. I think Mac would just be talking about food 24/7, but I always wonder about MissKitty, she's hard to read.

Peace,
Brandon

LOL.

But, I would love to hear what Bella has to say. If she could talk, I'm sure I could help her feel much better faster! I have no idea what my kittens, Bert and Ernie would say! They're such little characters though

I would love to hear whar Franz and Maddie would have to say...insomuch, that I'll never know, I believe their first utterances would go like this...

Franz: "Wow Mom, your such a babe!" (the Mamas boy)

Maddie: "I SAID I wanted fries with that!" (ever the street urchin)

I was leaning heavily toward the majority. I really do prefer the way cats speak now . . . until the very good point about the vet was made. I'd love it if any of the animals in my care could say, "Hey mom, I've got a belly ache right over here . . . I think it was the bug I ate earlier" or "Mom, I got a rock in my hoof, and even though it's gone I got all bruised". Without them being able to tell me I get all anxious, wondering how bad it is!! Based on the posts on TCS, I'm not the only parent who gets worried! But then, I also agree that I LIKE the fact that my furry friends can't nag me or talk my ear off. They happen to be the best listeners on the planet, because of it. How about, I wish they could speak my language when they really need to let me know something is wrong, but otherwise I like it the way it is. And, really, I think they're probably glad WE don't speak THEIR language!
