Movin' on up!
My first one was TWO WEEKS late. We tried walking and driving over bumpy roads. Forget sex - at that point, I didn't want that man to EVER touch me again! The doctor tried to induce, at one week late and the contractions stopped, after an hour. The second try, one week later, DID work.

Richard weighed 10 lb 1 oz and was 22 inches long. He was due, Christmas Day and was born Jan. 8.

Hang in there, Adrienne. I know that you're miserable, right now but, in a few months (years
) this will be funny.

BTW: how long has it been, since you've been able to shave your legs? I had to give it up, at 7 1/2 months - couldn't reach them.

Ady, hope the baby comes soon but just take it easy and don't let the baby feel your impatience. You might end up raising a very anxious child.

Well, I am so ready for this baby to be out! I am due on Saturday, but my doctor thinks I am going to be late! I can't be late - there is no more room inside me for the baby and my innards any longer. I can't get comfortable anywhere. The baby is just getting bigger and bigger! I feel like an elephant! I think the baby has decided he doesn't want out while it is still winter and will wait for spring.

Every night I sit in my glider rocker, rub the belly and chant "out baby, out baby, out"! It doesn't seem to be working! He is just as stubborn as I am!

I am going to try and catch up on some of the threads - I am sorry If I miss anything! I hope everyone is doing well!
Sending you mega NYC vibes for those serious contractions to start! In the mean time, here's a list of contractions...

Yes, this is lame humor, but I believe I read somewhere that laughing will bring on contractions! Good luck..hope you have a safe and easy delivery!

Lol on the contractions.

The baby will come when he comes. Sorry.
Patience is hard when you feel like an elephant. Elephants are pregnant for TWO years! Better to feel like an elephant than to be one. No small comfort when you're miserable....

Oh Sweetie!!! I KNOW how you feel!!! And my DD's are 32 and 29 years old and I STILL remember SO, SO well!!!!!!!!

My second DD was 9 pounds and I was ALL baby!!! I worked (reluctantly!!) up until my due date and I worked in a hospital, on a medical floor, right down the hall from Labor and Delivery. The day after my last day, the nursing supervisor called me to come into work. I replied, "WHAT??!! NO WAY!! --I am one day past my due date, and I could go into labor ANY time!!!" To which she replied, "Oh honey, that is what is SO great about the floor you work on! If you DO go into labor, we'll just wheel you right over to Labor and Delivery, and see? You'll be RIGHT there in no time at all!!"

--And guess what? She did NOT talk me into going in that day at all!!!

I hope you can find SOME comfort and go into labor then, really, really soon!!

Under the cats, mostly.
I know how you feel...but I was lucky - if you take two weeks off the due date the doctors here give you, then you're more or less spot on for your delivery. I was anyway. Try some gentle exercise. Apparently cranberries are good to start you off too
that could jsut be a myth though I suspect! Although apparently, sex is really very good. There's a hormone in semen that starts the cervix to dialate and your contractions to begin... perhaps you should try that
Maybe you don't have the energy for all that malarky, but trust me when I say it works!

I have been pretty good Cindy - I last shaved about 2 weeks ago. I am now waiting until I am in actual labour to do it again. I have worked out a method that seems to work, but it involves effort. Hubby says he doesn't want the baby's 1st look at the world being hairy legs and I told him to shut up or the baby might end up with only one parent!

Still nothing happening here. I think tonight hubby is taking me out to dinner and an action movie. Maybe that will get something going!

Loving my beautiful baby girl
Hope this works for you, Ady!
Have fun tonight! This will be one of the last nights for a long time that you and just hubby will be able to go out without fretting over having to leave your baby and finding the perfect, trustworthy sitter!

OUT BABY OUT! OUT BABY OUT!

Maybe he's waiting until you settle on a name??? My best friend as a child said her dad took her mom on one of those 'bumpy car rides', and she was a breech birth! Ady, I wish you a speedy and healthy delivery. As uncomfortable as you are right now, take comfort in the fact that you are the center of attention and the receiver of all the pampering. Pretty soon you're on call 24/7 for the next 18 or so years.

Uh--make the most of your "me" time right now because that totally disappears. Oh, and it's been 4 months and I still look and pretty much feel pregnant.
