Sorry I haven't been on line, but the computer is in the basement and I just haven't had the energy to spend much time there! I have been trying to get everything ready, but I have been doing it slowly as I have had a sore back and nasty headaches (I get chronic ones).

Well, I am so ready for this baby to be out! I am due on Saturday, but my doctor thinks I am going to be late! I can't be late - there is no more room inside me for the baby and my innards any longer. I can't get comfortable anywhere. The baby is just getting bigger and bigger! I feel like an elephant! I think the baby has decided he doesn't want out while it is still winter and will wait for spring.

Every night I sit in my glider rocker, rub the belly and chant "out baby, out baby, out"! It doesn't seem to be working! He is just as stubborn as I am!

I am going to try and catch up on some of the threads - I am sorry If I miss anything! I hope everyone is doing well!

Oh Ady, it's ok, he'll come when he's ready. My son was almost 3 weeks early and only 6.9 lbs and 19 1/2 inches. He looked like a string of spaghetti!!
I now we start to get uncomfortable at that stage but it's for the best.

I'm sending your baby birthday wishes - maybe if he realizes he's going to get presents he'll make his appearance!

Good luck!

I have been told that he will probably be between 8 and 10 pounds due to a medical condition I have. I would personally like to push him out before he reaches the 10 pound mark, if you know what I mean! My doctor said if I don't have him by Sunday, then I get an ultra sound on Monday and we will consider inducing him!

OUT BABY OUT BABY OUT!

OUT BABY OUT! Sending "you want to enter this world, Adymarie's baby!" vibes and prayers!

Because I've never been pregnant, I can't sympathize with how uncomfortable you must be! But I do know people who have been pregnant with twins, someone who has diabetes and had labor induced as soon as his lungs were developed (just past 7 months) - and he was a 13 pound baby - and BOY were they uncomfortable! So now that he's due and he's going to be large, I can at least try to imagine - and my back aches for you!

Sending vibes your way, Ady. My sister (4 kids) swears that eating spaghetti with lots of tomato sauce helps, or riding along bumpy roads.

Loving my beautiful baby girl
oh dear, Ady, you must be absolutely miserable! Come on, precious baby, hurry out for your Mommy before she pops!

Have you always been diabetic, Ady, or is this gestational diabetes? I know you're keeping it well under control!
With all of us here cheering for you, your sweet little one will be born healthy and happy in no time at all!

Out, baby, out!

Make love with your husband. His semen has the same properties as the product they use to induce labour.

At the kitty's beck and call
I hope baby makes an appearance soon - then you'll be able to turn over and sleep in bed in any position you want
and for me it meant my feet were warm for the first time in three months as well

But it is nice to still feel baby moving about whilst you still have him there - I remember missing that after daughter was born

Good luck Ady.

Sending 'Out Baby" vibes your way. I also recommend what Yosemite has suggested. While it doesnt work for everyone, it has proven to be quite successful at starting the labor process.

I think inducing is a great idea. Cam was due on Valentines day, but the doc told me that if he wasnt here by then, then she would induce me the next day. Which she did. He was born on Feb. 15th.

With my youngest boy, A.J., I was SO miserable that my doc induced me a WEEK early, because he was already of substantial size (he was 7 lbs, 14 oz, which is bigger than Cam who was born 1 day late at 6 lbs 11 oz)

GOOD LUCK, ADYMARIE!!!

Actually I am not diabetic (gestational or otherwise). Due to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (which is similar to a pre-diabeties) I had major trouble concieving. The syndrome also pre-disposes people for larger babies.

Thanks for all of the vibes everyone. Trust me - we have been trying "everything", including sex! We had the spaghetti last night. John was told by some one at work that chicken causes labour so that is what we are having tonight. Last night went for a walk at the local Walmart. I guess he will come out when he is good and ready!

When my sister was at that stage, she and her hubby went driving over some local unpaved back roads to try and convince my niece to come out.

It wasn't until sis offered to help our grandmother with the potatoes in her garden that niece was ready. With nephew, sis got out of picking tomatoes...

You sure you want to tell the baby to get out? You know how children are - they always do the opposite of what you say!

It's a family board, I'm not going to describe techniques in detail here. I've sent ady a pm, so she's got the info if she wishes to try it
