Boy, it's not a good week for my cats!! Rocket is looking better but now Dexter seems unhappy.

Since Tuesday he has been hiding under the bed, looking really sad and miserable. At first I thought it was because Rocket was getting a lot of attention (due to him being sick) but now I am starting to worry. He is constantly smacking his lips - it's like he has cottonmouth or something. Whenever I pet him it's smack and licking.

He has been eating (he ate some wet food today) and has been taking cat treats as well. Is this something I should be concerned about? Should I take him in to see the vet? Thanks in advance!!!

All I can say is that lip smacking can be a sign of nausea, honestly I'd probably run him in to the vets to see what they can find out.

I agree, the lip smacking can be a sign of nausea, and the fact that your kitty is hiding would obvious indicate that he isn't feeling well. Please take Dexter to the Vet as soon as possible.

I called his vet today! They gave me an appointment with him tomorrow morning, so that's good! I hope my poor baby is okay. Today I opened up a can of tuna and he ate that right away, and he is not running a temperature, but he won't let me look in his mouth at all. I am wondering if he has caught Rocket's respiratory infection?
