Forgive my asking, but why do you think he needs a bath? If you just think he has fleas it is better to get him to a vet who will treat him with Advantage or other similar drops. Unless he is really dirty (my Persil was covered in motor oil when I found her) he probably is better left to clean himself. He will need a vet anyway for a check and his standard shots.

To reply to your saying..thanks for talking with me..I am going to bath him cause he was at a store outside in a large box with kittens that all had fleas and he has been biteing himself all day yesterday and scratching like crazy so i will bath him to make him feel better and cause i love him...as for the vet i cant afford one i am as called low income to no income and we give him his first shots well my friend will he knows what he is doing he has done this before. and when he really gets sick or if he ever does i never had an indoor cat get sick on me before i will get him to the vet and do what needs done all i did was ask i felt sorry for him the way he was itching all day thanks for the concern

A bath won't get rid of fleas - you need something slow release that will kill them and their eggs. If the cat has fleas there will be many more in the house - a ration of over 1/10 is normal. They only jump on the cat to feed. And I hate to say it, but you really shouldn't get a kitten without being able to afford at least basic shots and care. It doesn't cost much to get a flea treatment done - phone some vets in your area and see what they say. At the very least one may sell you some proper flea meds - not the over the counter ones that don't work and can be harmful. Good luck with it all.

Hello Jennyranson

I took my kitten to the vet and he charged me 5 dollars for one small pill that will kill the worms he has and the tape worms if he has any the vet said i am going to get rid of these pesty flea's one way or another i hate them and like the vet said i will not get rid of all of them all houses have them from us comming inside and out they are in the grass the only reason i hate them i am elergic cant spell in a hurry..i have big welts from them...But one way or the other i will win when i gave him the bath he looked and felt better the vet i was with told me the shampoo from the store was fine they get most of their supplies from a large pet store but anyway i love my animal i will do what i can to help and love him the last cat i had was gizzy he had flea's and i shampooed him all the time till none bother us again and when any of my pets are sick i take them to a vet who works with us thanks again have a great day
