I had oral surgery yesterday. It was bad enough that they had to put me completely under and I am not at my best today. I was lying here trying to sleep, when prowler started acting out in the kitchen. She was scratching at the cabinet under the sink.
I got up, and went in to her and checked in the cabinet to see if there was anything there. Nope, just the pipes and the fixtures. No wall surrounds this part of our house, it is an open area right now where the cats could get in under the dishwasher if they wanted to, which is why we blocked it off. I closed it back up, and went back to sleep..
..scratch...scratch...scratch.. prowler woke me again. I went in and she was digging furiously at the cabinet in the same spot. This time, I grabbed a screwdriver and went to work taking off the sheeting we put in front of the area to keep the cats out- and there was Gypsy! How in the world she even got back there, is anyone's guess. Mike supposes she crawled into a small tiny space under the dishwasher (that we hadn't blocked because we thought no cat could get into the space). But once mike crawled down there with a flashlight, he saw the tell-tale signs of calico fur on the springs underneath.
Gypsy showed up this morning for chow, and so she got trapped sometime afterwards, and though her ears were cold, and she was scared, she is fine. She is now on the top of the cat condo and I thanked prowler for being so "annoying" and saving her!
