Well that is what I have been crying for a few days now! Well our beloved Ruffles passed away a few weeks ago and Pringles our little kitty is about 7 months old and missed him and my kids also wanted a new kitty. So my vet knew a lady that had a sweet 6 month old orange tabby male (same as Pringles) so we named him Cheetos
He was an outside cat for the most part. So sweet and very loving kitty.

Now the 2 kitties Pringles and Cheetos get along great! They are like brothers and we have only had Cheetos since Friday. Well it started with him not wanting to use the litter box at all. The first night he peed on the boys covers and pooped on my bed with me in it! Also pooped in the floor and also in the dirty clothes basket.

So to make a long story a little shorter he is now using the litter box. We have bought a new one just for him and have 2 now. 1 is on the first floor and the other is on the 2nd floor. But none on the 3rd floor.
Which my house really isn't that big for him to get lost. He uses both litter boxes just fine all day long.

For some reason in the morning while we are still in bed he comes in there moaning and then poops on the quilt we are covered with. Now he only does this on my bed on my quilt. The last 2 mornings I have made sure to go to bed with the door shut and he has been fine but this morning my son came in my room to get in bed with us and let the cats in and of course you know what happened

So I call the vet and he says maybe he is marking ????? I am like WHAT! So he is getting fixed today and getting his baby teeth removed because they have not fell out yet but need to.

So what do you all make of this?? I am at a loss with him pooping on my covers!!! HELP!

maybe he likes the attention it gives him? try not to show any emotion towards him and put him and the poop straight in a litter box. or you could try shutting him outside when he does it? maybe if he learnt that negative things happen when he poops on the bed he'll stop?

i know this goes without saying buy make sure you wash away all traces of the poopey smell! hopefully its just a bad habit he'll grow out of. good luck!

Thanks everyone for the help! I sure hope he out grows this!

Now this morning he pooped in 1 bath tub and then peed in the other bath tub! I can handle cleaning out of the tub better than off my bed! But what is going on with this cat!

He was fixed yesterday and is doing great health and happy wise. But the little presents he leaves me every mornings are driving me nutso! He uses the litter box all day!
hmmmmmm

He sounds sick to me. I would ask your vet to run a routine blood test on him before his neuter to see if something is wrong with him. I would rule out a health issue first before thinking he is doing it intentionally to you.

He was already neutered yesterday. I will be calling the vet again in the morning he said something yesterday about maybe putting him on Albon (sp?)

Does he have loose stool? Has he been tested for a bacterial infection? That is usually why Albon is prescribed. Did he poop right after he got home from the neuter or did he do it before he left?

No it's solid. It was just a little soft after his first taste of can food but has gotten back to norm now. He was doing the bed pooping before he got fixed and he was fixed yesterday and this morning is when he left the presents in my bath tubs
He hasn't been tested yet but he is thinking that might be the cause of him doing this. Cause he was an outside cat and no telling what he could have ate. The night I got him his breath smelt like dead rat! EWWWW

I wouldn't put him on medication unless you are sure he has something. It would be like guessing in the dark if you do that. Can you confine him in one small room, with three litter pans until he figures out that litter pans are where he should go? Run a fecal in to your vet and ask him to test it for all known diseases and then if he has a problem treat him with the proper medication. Usually when they poop on a smooth surface there is a health issue- so again that should be ruled out first.

I know this is frustrating for you. I am dealing with the same thing, only this cat is doing it because of a recent trauma. It took several trips to the vet to rule out health issues, before I was to understand that Tazzy pooping on the carpeting is a result of the accident she had in September where she lost her leg.
I now have a big computer mat under the litter pans, so she poops on there now instead of on the carpet. And I used a good enzyme cleaner on the carpet to get rid of the smell.
