Adrian bought me this for xmas and it's become my 'good-luck charm'...

One side is the Dragon & the Phoenix which in the Chinese culture are symbolic of High Virtue from what I've read...

The other side has 4 Chinese Symbols... I've attempted to translate them and I believe the top is the symbol for Gold, the bottom is the symbol for Jade and the one on the left is the symbol for Subservience... I haven't been able to figure out the rightone... and I'm not sure if I'm even accurate about the others...
It's possible that in that combination they have a specific meaning... I'm wondering if anyone here knows or knows someone that might know... I'd really appreciate it if I could figure out what the symbols mean... Thanks in advance!!

The top character means gold.
Bottom is "jade".
Right is "full".
Left is "home".
If you put them together it means to fill your home with lots and lots of gold (wealth).
Prosperity & Good fortune, that is.

Thank you so much!! That's what I figured "Good Fortune"... No wonder I consider it my good luck charm!! I've been wearing it over my shirt since I got it and nothing good has happened until today when I wore it on my interview under my shirt and I got the job... Superstitious much??? LoL

Congratulations! That's so awesome!

These used to be chinese ancient coins, people would thread them through a long string and tie them on their belts.
Hence the hole in the middle.

That was very sweet of Adrian to pick out a special "charm" for you.

Mine has a string looped through it and I wear it around my neck... We all have one... Adrian, his 3 brothers, his sister, his cousin and his Kung Fu instructor as well.. It was actually a sweet gesture because his older brother bought a bunch of them and Adrian asked if he could give me one because they've taken me in as part of their family in the last few months.. No wonder I love him so much... LoL
I'm a cheese-ball! LoL

Under the cats, mostly.
that's really cute!
what a sweet thought - and obviously it has been lucky for you eh? I'm going to go and have the chinese symbol for "cat" tattooed somewhere sometime. I've got it all set up to go - but my tattoo artist has moved shop
now I just have to find him!

I wanna get the symbol for Capricorn tattooed on the back of my neck... Adrian knows a guy that's a tattoo artist and he's actually learning how to tattoo himself... so I may wait until he gets better and have him do it for me... because he draws... and he's amazing... I'm gonna see if I can get some of his work scanned on my computer so I can post it.. you guys wouldnt believe how amazing his drawings are... so yeah.. i want him to design it and tattoo it for me... then I wanna get something else... dont know what... dont know where... lol

I really like it, by the way! I want one of my own - it would be nice. But I would hate to buy it myself, wish my boyfriend would get me one! Lol!

I've always wanted to visit NY so I'll be sure to keep you in mind when I actually do. No, there's no Chinatown in Texas so make sure they keep a lucky charm for me!

I'm sure they'll have em.. To be honest, they're like "a dime, a dozen"... What makes it special to me is who gave it to me

I can understand that! When I come visit you'll just have to sneakily instruct my boyfriend where to get one for me!
