Is this a worm?

A few times when I've held my kitten I've noticed a little pink thing coming out of his penis. Probably about this long ---, about 1cm in diameter. It will only come out that far then it goes back in. I'm wondering if it's a worm or not. It looks like it could be one since it seems to move a little but I'm not sure if it's natural or something I just have no knowledge of. If it is a worm, what should I do? Pull it out the next time I see it? I really don't know. My kitten was treated for worms about a month ago and they were the little white tapeworms. They all died and I haven't seen one since but I'm still clueless as to what this thing is.

Don't pull it - I think what you are seeing is his actual penis, the part that is not normally sheathed. It looks a little different from a human one as it is barbed, to ensure contact and stimulation with the interior of the female.

Wow, that's weird. I never knew that. I guess you learn something new everyday. So why does it come out sometimes? Is he getting an erection or something?

Ummmm just out of curiosity... what color did you think it would be?

And no it's not actually an erection, it's just sort of poking out.
