Ok, bare with me because I'm crying... I told you guys yesterday that I was trying to find a Nanny/Housekeeping position and that I had an interview with a lady tomorrow that would be really great... well, I spoke to a different lady today who was looking for a FT Live-in Nanny which would be GREAT for me because I need a place to live too.. everything sounded perfect, she felt that I was perfect for the job... so, I mentioned Malakai to her and she said that her husband is allergic and it really wouldnt be a good idea for me to bring him... They dont live to far from my house so I could live there, leave him at my dad's and then come back to visit him but the thought of being without my baby boy is killing me...
I don't wanna leave him!! What do I do???

depending on how allergic he is, you may set him off just by the little bits of fur and dander that hang out on your clothes, so it may not work out at all, even if you visit your cat at your dad's.

Not to be the wet blanket, but if the cat is that important to you, keep looking.

That is really, really hard situation to be in. I know how I would feel because nothing would come between me and my cats. I say that, but I've never needed a place to stay and I've never been out of work so I'm fortunate. I'm just wishing good vibes for you and Malakai because that is going to be a tough decision no matter what.

YEs consult with the husband with the allergy first.
My bfs little sister is allergic to long haired cats and she is fine around my little one as he is short haired.
It might be perfect for now but KEEP LOOKING IN CASE.

I know it will be the toughest decision for you, but all you need to do is pray on it, and make the decision that is best. If God wants you to have a different job, He will give it to you. I know this may not be exactly what you want to hear, but, it's your life, your decision, and I'm afraid you have to make it. I hope all goes well!

what a tough situation...

well, if you dont feel like you can be happy without the cat then I would say keep looking...

BUT....it also depends on what the job market is looking like for you and how desperate you are for this work. You said that you had other interviews right? why dont you see how those go...how long did she give you to make this decision?

I love my cat so dearly..I dont know what I would do in this situation, but if it was a great enough opportunity (read: life changing) I think I would have to weigh my own success against the cat (not that I would ever give her back to the shelter...more like plead with friends and family to take her). I mean, you are talking to a girl who still cries about missing her dog snowball-the family pet she left behind to move out of her parents home and in with her husband!! But at the same time, you do have to look out for yourself, right?

I dont know what to tell you---I hope something happens to make your decision clear for you

Tough decision, but I would definately keep looking. I am not the one in your situation so I can't say that my decision is the right one for you, but I couldn't give Dori up. Another job will come along.... but like I said I can't make the decision for you. I am sure whatever you decide to do will be best

Okay, I managed to calm myself down enough from
to
... I called my best friend and we talked it over... I DO have other options.. I have an interview tomorrow with a lady who seems really nice and who likes me so, if all goes well I may have that position!!
Cross your fingers for me, please
It would be perfect because I could get my own place where I could bring Malakai.... Like SharonKay said this isnt a once-in-a-lifetime position, as great as it seemed at first... I'm weighing the pros and cons... It's in Chappaqua, which is about 25 mins from where I live now in Yonkers... So, I'd be further from everyone, in a new place that I'm not used to... When I go back to school, I'll be even further upstate, which would be bad... Obviously, I'd have to leave Kai here, which is tearing me up inside... I probably wouldnt be able to have friends over, which is important to me because I like spending time with my friends... and Adrian & I have been so frustrated because we dont have a place to just relax so, I really need my own apartment... I'm just hoping all goes well tomorrow! I've been out of work for so long, the bills are just piling up and the situation with my Dad is getting worse by the day so, I'm in desperate need of some good vibes!!

25 minutes isn't too bad.. You would get used to it. Keep trying & good luck! I like to tell myself that I will do everything that is in my power, & leave the rest to faith.
It shows that you have a good heart- shelters are full of sweet animals that are disposable victims of our lives.

I'm praying for you, sweetheart. Everything seems so bad right now, but it will work out soon. Just keep looking at all of your options. I know I could never leave Juicy behind...it would kill me to not have him sleeping next to me every night!!!

We are really sending you the bestest vibes for this.
I feel for you so much! I commute 90 minutes each way into downtown Seattle and leaving my job and coming home at night I get so jumpy because all I can think of is Sasha and Saba.... so to be away from them all day and not be able to take little Malakai with you for this job --I would find that very hard. But in reading your update, you do have options out there and maybe you have to hurdle some obstacles before you find what is right. Keep praying for guidance and messages and you will receive.
BTW, have I ever told you how enchanting Malakai is, anyhooo?

Thanks so much everyone! I feel a lot better than I did this morning... I've been talking to other families and I have some options... I met with a family tonight and I'll be meeting with 2 families tomorrow... I'm actually trying to formulate a budget right now... It looks like I may have to get another part time job in addition to whatever I would be making working full time in order to be really comfortable... It's making me rather nervous but I'll figure something out... I may just have to sacrifice some things here and there... As long as Kai eats better than me, everything will be fine, right??

BTW, have I ever told you how enchanting Malakai is, anyhooo?
Thank you, Elizabeth!
