Last night at about 9:00 a kitty wandered into my yard. She was hurt, and limping, so I took her to the vet imediatley. She has a broken leg. I am pretty sure she was born a stray, since I have seen her around alot, and left food out for her on numerous occasions, but I have put out fliers, and alerted our local humane society.
The kicker is, that this cat which we have decided to call Rhiannon, is pregnant. So as most of you have read in previous posts of mine, I only own/have ever owned, one cat. Tinkerbelle, and I am not even really sure how to properly care for a pregnant cat...so, I am wondering if in your opinion I should keep this cat, or find someone who is properly..educated to care for her and her future kittens.

Until I decide I need help, does she need special food? The vet told me she has anywhere from 1- 1/2 weeks left, and told me to find her a warm place where she could give birth without annoyance from my other animals.

I am so excited, and scared, I would hate for something to go wrong with these kittens, because I did something wrong. Anything you can say to help..is well appreciated.

I've never dealt with newborn kittens but others with loads of experience will be along at some point.

I do know (from reading this board) that the mother will need extra nutrients and you should feed her a good quality kitten food. A nesting box in a warm quiet area will be needed. You could also do a forum search or check out www.kitten-rescue.com for additional info.

Good luck and thanks for taking care of this kitty.

goodluck with the kittens. i think you should keep them if you can afford it. you seem to love them already and imo thats all you need as momma cat will take care of the rest.

why not foster her atleast then you'll be freeing up spaces at a local shelter too
