With the Academy Award season approaching I felt the need to award my cats, Franz and Maddie, with the "Most Tolerant Cats on Earth Award" The college I attend, Pratt Institute, has on their 25 acre campus about 80 cats. All are spayed/neutered and vetted. Almost everyday I run into 3-4 Pratt Cats and stop to give them a well deserved scritch or two. Futhermore, we have quite a few felines at one of the homeless shelters I work at and they get plenty of scritches from me as well. I would never discriminate between the college educated Pratt Cats and their poorer cousins at the shelter. While I do wash my hands all the time after a a scritch session, I know I come home reeking of CAT! Franz and Maddie never fuss about it, and show me all the love in the world despite my aroma. So heres to my Franz and Maddie! Sorry folks, I just needed to brag about them in public!

I know EXACTLY what you are saying!!!
I feed a colony of feral cats at the edge of our town at an old grainmill. There are about 30 kitties there. Then, I often stop at my friend's house who helps run our local cat and kitten adoption and rescue. --She ALWAYS has kitties there, in addition to the ones who also belong to her!!! So, yes, I wash my hands scrupulously and spray my clothes with Lysol and clean up whatever I can. But my little Miss Missy Kitty ALWAYS, ALWAYS knows, without a doubt, that I have been out with other kitties!!!

Yup, I often have occasion to talk to other critters, sometimes DOGS, but often the cats who live at my Dad's care facility. But my beasts are fine with it. I think their philosophy is, "Talk to whoever you want -- JUST DON'T BRING THEM HOME WITH YOU!!"
Awwww Barbara as long as they know it's always them you come home too they have nothing to worry about!
I know how you feel. My two put up with me cheating on them with my parents' DOG! Such sweet kitties.
You should be very proud of your two Barbara....my 3 would be checking for suspicious catnip in my pockets and check me every time I came in!!

I felt terrible when I was living at my best friends house in NJ because Kai was locked in my bedroom while I wandered the house and played with their other animals... 3 cats and 2 dogs... kai would get mad at me when I came back in the room smelling like other pets... and he was even more mad at Adrian who paid more attention to Lion than to him... heck, I was mad at Adrian for paying more attention to Lion than to ME LoL
