Indianapolis, INDIANA...

Max (formerly Marcus) is a 2 year old black and white tuxedo, very petite(9lbs), short hair cat who recently tested POSITIVE for FELINE LEUKEMIA! Currently, he is a healthy boy who still has a lot of love left in him! He was an owner surrender and he is now being fostered by me in Indianapolis, Indiana. However, I have three forever cats so Max is being isolated in my basement. He is such a friendly, loving, and adorable cat who gets along well with other cats and he deserves more attention. He is neutered and up to date on his shots. His previous owner was an older gentleman who recently began rapidly losing his eyesight and therefore forced to find Max a new home. I agreed to foster Max and search for a new home because I figured it would be easy with his great personality. When I took him to the vet to update his shots and get him microchipped, that is when he tested positive for feline leukemia. I understand the possibility of false positives so I went to a different vet and had his blood sent to a lab to be tested, and that test came back positive too.. so I am now convinced.

I am searching for a home for Max that is willing to adopt a cat who could possibly only live to be 3 or 5 years old. This home would need to have either no other cats or have other leukemia positive cats, since he is "contagious".

I am not sure how to post a picture on petfinder, but I do have pictures I can email anyone who would like them. Please contact me if you can help Max find a forever home. I am located in Indianapolis but am willing to help with transporting him to other areas.

Also, please contact me if you know of any Feline Leukemia rescues that may have room for Max.
