I just adopted a 1 year old cat on Wednesday the 26th of January and he seems healthy, but the last couple of days he has been sneezing and today he's been sneezing constantly. His eyes are somewhat watery. He still has a good appetite and is somewhat lethargic, but since I've only had him a few days, I do not know if this is normal for him. Yesterday, his ears were rather warm, but since he's so fluffy, I thought maybe he was just hot. Is anyone familiar with cat sneezing? Is it a cold, allergy, or something else? Please help.

He could have an upper respiratory infection which tend to be fairly common in shelters or it could be that he's allergic to something in your home that he's never been exposed to before.

Definitely call the vet on Monday and try to get him in to be seen. Since you just got him.....it's a good idea anyway to go ahead and get him checked out and introduced to your vet.

Exactly what Robin said. Firstly, it's always good to get a new cat checked out at the vet's... and second it could be something like a URI that might needed to be treated, or it might just go away on it's own.

It sounds like he's a bit sick. Vet call sounds in order like they said. It is a good thing you were observant enough to notice. If you have other cats in the household there is a good chance they will catch it as well even if you keep them seperated (which they should be). So keep an eye on them also if you have any others. Good luck with the little fellah!

You've been given some good advice! Go take him to the vet. They can help a lot!
