Beryl, thanks for the good vibes and the compliment (however undeserved!) I'm hoping I can get some photos which are as cute as yours of Ebony!

Thank you, Carolcat. Sorry Penelope hasn't written lately to Jasper. She's just been a bit depressed about going to the bad place so often. She and her sister, Molly, still think he's mighty handsome!

Penelope sends her love back to Ellie who definitely looks like her. Does Ellie have any tortie markings, too?

Hope Persil's recovery is going well. We've been praying for her!

Penelope is a cute little girl!
I hope everything goes ok, she will certainly be in my thoughts. Sash had chronic coughing for 2-3 years and had x-rays and was found to have mild asthma. I believe his was brought on by his chronic sinus condition which caused his daily coughing episodes because once he was given an antibiotic Zeniquin he completely stopped coughing. Good luck!

Well, that's certainly good to hear. I'll ask the vet about whether it could be a sinus condition. It would be great if we could clear all this up with an antibiotic but I'm anticipating it may be necessary to give her long term treatment with steroids. In any case, I just want her to get through the procedure safely tomorrow. I'm so anxious and scared. I feel like I won't be able to breathe until she's through with this and back home safe and sound.

Penelope had her bronchoalveolar lavage today and it went fine. Her meow was a bit hoarse from the intubation but she's back to her talkative self now. In fact, an hour after she got back, she had a bit of wet food and started frisking about like nothing happened! I think I made this procedure out to be more than it was -- I guess just the fact that she was under general anesthesia made it sound scary.

Anyway, the vet said there was a lot of fluid in Penelope's lungs so it's a good thing I had the procedure done. She will send a sample out for cytology and get back to me with the results in the next few days. I'll let you know what the final diagnosis is when we get it.

Thank you all SOOOO much for your prayers, good vibes, and support! It has really helped me get through this tough time!

Colleen, we are sending super strong and lucky vibes to your gorgeous girl! Penelope has a deeply caring mama and we hope that the cytolab reports are all negative.

So glad to hear that everything went smoothly today for you both. I'm sure the vet will have very encouraging news!

Thanks, Amie. I'll just be glad to get a diagnosis so we can start treating her with the appropriate medications! I'll let you know what the report is when it comes in (probably not until Thursday, unfortunately).
