I noticed that when Megan is laying down, her paws are pretty dirty (she has white paws). I've noticed in everyone else's photo's their cats seem to have white clean paws. Meg does hang out in the basement which has a concrete floor and the floor is not very clean because I don't get down there very much. I don't really care. I just wondered why my kitty doesn't seem to care much about grooming herself. Does anyone else have white cats indoor only that are sort of dirty? I guess this doesn't say much for my housecleaning, huh? Mama is mostly white and she doesn't have dirty paws.

Hmmm... both Baylee and Max have white paws and they seem pretty clean, I think. But if it's just Megan and not Mama then maybe Megan's just a lazy cleaner, or trying to make you look bad by hanging out in the basement? And I think it's okay that the basement is dirty, we won't judge you or your cleaning skills... it's just a basement!

I had to go over to Rosie and Sophie and inspect their paws!.

Theirs seem ok but what i have noticed several times is after they've been on the litter tray they can look a bit grubby, plus if Sophie jumps up into the white sink in the bathroom she can leave little prints if theres been water in.

Meagan might not be as fussy at cleaning like the others thats all.

And theres nothing wrong with your cleanliness!, weve seen your house remember!!

I have notice this for some time and thought it was because she was in the litter. Sophie is what really brought it to my attention. When I did the picture of her and Meg I thought, "Gee , Meggie is so much dirtier than Sophie"

There might be some sort of dye or pigment in the clay litter that makes their paws dirty. Kionu's paws would get dirty when we used clay litter. Same thing happened with 2 of my Mom's cats. We switched litters (I use WBCL, she uses chicken feed) and their paws are white again.

Maybe there is something safe for cats you can get and get her fur nice and white again? Or maybe she can start wearing socks? *grin*

Chester is a tux cat, like Megan and what I noticed was that his fur on his paws is white but his pawpads are black. I guess I lucked out! I think black hides the dirt better, don't you??

Yes- she needs little socks
I think she's just lazy. I don't see her bathing herself as much as the others. Right now she has collapsed on top of the turbo track.... maybe I should go get a wash cloth now

The bottom of Crystals paws get pretty dirty and even if I wash them it doesn't improve them much! But for some reason it doesn't really show up in her pics...go figure!

We used to have a cat Lucy (now at the bridge) she looked alot like your Megan. She was with us when we used to let the cats go outside and she was a horrible groomer, she used to like to roll in the dirt and not clean herself, then if you pat her fur all of this dust would fly out!!

Diane - you are making me feel better!
I guess I will really worry when she walks around the house with a cloud of dust surrounding her like PigPen from Charlie Brown

Thanks everyone for your posts! I guess I just have a dirty cat!

Bobber is a tortie but has alot of white fur and pads of paws are pink. She goes outside everyday but her fur is always white. Bakker on the other hand is also a tuxedo with black pads on paws I don't think his white is the same white as Bobber. Plus his paws look dirty always too!! He grooms helpself alot and has never gone outside-I don't know why he never looks as clean as Bobber.

I wouldn't think so or else her mother's paws would be dirty plus the basement concrete has never been treated or painted. I think she just must be dirty like everyone says.
