Having been down the south of England for three days this week, I am severly behind in everything inc email. So, whats been happening where you are and with you yourself???
I have this weekend off, then I am away again on Monday and will not be home until saturday or late friday night (hopeful for friday). Me and the hotel are getting very used to each other !!!! However, am having huge breakfasts and thats real hard, having to bow to my weakness and eat loads of sausages... no wonder the waist is getting larger!
Lonely down there for me, best part though was having to visit an office who had a flight path direct for Heathrow airport. Spent four hours in meetings staring out of the window as the airport runway is two miles away in a straight line... 747 heaven for me and cant wait to go back. I did take notes in the meetings - oh and if you want to know who I am now working for - check out their web site - I look at it and put weight on - its .. www.mrkipling.co.uk
I get loads of samples and it seems impolite to say no!

So - another week away - so whats happening where you are????? I feel the need for a healthy sniff of keroscene from a 747 engine - anyone wanna join me????

Nice to hear from you. No need to check the website to find out about your new employer - me and Mr. Kipling are well acquainted (through his produce I hasten to add)

Near Heathrow - you can dream about where all those big silver birds are off to and whether any of your TCS friends live at the other end. I LOVE airports - not too keen on the flying bit though

Enjoy your weekend at home - spend loads of quality time with the family. Did your wife enjoy the poem?

I think I would personally enjoy working for your new company. Yum yum, but those goodies look too tastey for words, especially those French Tarts.

I too love airports and I love to fly.

Trust me - one week of hotel breakfasts and also tastings as I needed to meet with marketing - they keep stuffing things into your hand.... my waistline is fast increasing - and when I visit the bakeries - about a fortnight away, then they pile the stuff on you as well I am told..... I am gonna get fatter than fat!!!

It will be like this off and on all year for me - thats one part to the question - part 2 - being away from my wife and son is pure hell. Not even huge breakfasts and service and 5***** hotels can take away the thrill of getting home. Its hard to say goodbye, however, its great coming home when every mile is ticked off and I get closer with every turn of the car wheels.

You might get so sick of the stuff that it'll put you off cakes and pies for the rest of your life. My dad worked for a company called Tastykake, which sold packaged cakes and pies. We always had the stuff around the house while I was growing up, and to this day I'm not "into" baked goods or sweets. Give me a jar of olives over a bar of chocolate any day. My sister, on the other hand, has an incredible sweet tooth.
It's a shame you'll be away from home so much this year; you'll miss a bit of your son's growing up. On the other hand, you'll enjoy being at home all the more, and you're rid of your old boss!

Kev, it's good to hear that your first week went well, even though you were homesick. Well, it would be surprising if you were not. it sounds like a fun job though, and that makes up for a lot - it would be much worse if you were really dreading getting there on Mondays, as well as being away from home. Good luck over hte next few weeks, and send us some virtual cakes! I love MK Almond slices!

Do they sell any of these products in the US??? They look pretty good!! I occasionally have to travel for my job-mainly day trips-the farthest is only 6 hrs away. And no 5 star hotels ANYWHERE!! (2 stars would be good!) One of my co-workers sells firetrucks for a living and travels the US extensively. So I here all about the joys of traveling!! Do you like the job? How have your headaches been??
