Hello everybody,

Just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself to everyone. My wife and I are privileged to share our lives with Maxwell, the most arrogant British Shorthair you might ever happen to meet, and Fargo -- a grizzled shelter vet with a serious addiction to naps and laps.

I've "eves-watched" the boards here and read the newsletter for quite sometime and really like the atmosphere -- my compliments to all for their passion and civility. And since everyone here has at least one common interest (of the four-legged and purring variety), I hope you might not be too offended if I mention our little cat-based business. Since this is somewhat of a shameless plug, I apologize in advance, and promise I'll only do it once.....

Some of you may have heard of The CatStruction Company (we did a little banner swapping with Anne a few months back) but for anyone else....

My wife Sharon & I started our little company out of a disappointment in the quality of most cat furniture. I won't go into too much detail here, but if you'd like to read more about us, you can go to our site: www.catstruction.com You will also see our hammocks, which we believe to be the highest quality, affordable cat beds in the world. I think you will agree that they are truly unique...

The last thing I wanted to mention is something so many of us felt after Sept 11th. Like others, we struggled to make things that seemed important and fun before the attacks, seem that way again. And although the issues that the world faces today (and forever) are so much larger than cats and their naps, the ability to make such things important and fun is a vital part of what makes us human.

Although we have always donated a percentage of our sales to various animal shelters and charities -- we wanted to do something more. So, we are also donating 10% of our sales until Christmas to the WTC Relief Fund, the Red Cross and the ASPCA in New York.

In our own little way, we are trying to be a part of something bigger, while fufilling our dream of providing a little affordable luxury for kitties everywhere. And yes, we do drop ship and write personal gift cards for Christmas gifts.

So..... I hope I didn't offend anyone -- or break any rules -- and I look forward to future chatting...

Best Regards,
Greg, Sharon, Maxwell & Fargo

Hi Greg,

Welcome. I checked out your site. Maxwell is a beautiful cat! I love British Shorthairs with their teddybear physique. I can't believe you were lucky enough to find him at a shelter. And Fargo and the "spokes pug" are adorable too!

The hammock looks like a good product and its wonderful that you can make the donations. I'd be interested but shipping it here would be cost prohibitive! Best of luck with the new business.

Regina

Thanks Anne -

I'd been meaning to join up and participate -- rather than just
-ly visit from time to time...

And yes, a signature link would be great. I thought I saw that you had HTML turned off for signatures, otherwise I might have tried myself....

It is turned off but you can use VB code which replaces some HTML. I'll go and do it now.

Greg,

I tried to go into your website to look at the hammocks and I can't access it. I also tried through Yahoo and a blank screen came up. I'd love to look at your products. Can you help me out here?

Thanks and welcome to The Cat Site!

Hi Donna -

I just checked with my site host and everything seemed to be up and running.
I am not sure what might be going on. According to my log, it was up all last night.... I will have to look into it a little more... maybe it was down for just a few minutes last night...

Maybe try again today: http://www.catstruction.com/

If you are still having problems, please let me know....

Thanks,

PS. Sorry Regina, I thought my reply -- but it didn't quite make it to my fingertips. Thanks for your compliment, and don't be so sure we couldn't work it out,
We've shipped to Europe before and it wasn't too bad -- she just got together with several other folks and we shipped several at once..... So you never know

Greg,

I went to go back into your site to show another cat person and it's not working again. Just thought you'd like to know. Great stuff!

Val & Donna --

Thanks for your help and sorry for the inconvenience. I will have to have a serious talk with my site host on monday and find out what's going on. My log says I was up and downloaded pageviews several times within 15-20 minutes on either side of your posts.....

If you try again, please let me know what happens, either way -- as to date, I was unaware that I was having any problems. I'll have to give you guys a special discount for being my freelance site troubleshooters....

Thanks again, and I'll get it worked out soon....

Thanks,
Greg

PS -- Just out of curiousity, what are your connection speeds? I think my main page can take 20 seconds or so on 28.8...

Greg...

It is now 9:40 EST. I was able to access your site. It is great!!
I really like your virtual samples of the different fabrics and stains.

OOH and the picture of Euphie and Ru..... OOH how adorable!!!

At the moment, my cat's favorite purching place is ME. Or the arm of the couch. Or the blanket I leave on the chair for her. She loves to bury herself in it. So at this point I don't know if she would be into the hammock.

But I wish you all the luck in the world, looks like you have a wonderful product, and I just wanted to let you know that I CAN access it.

I will still try to figure out what's going on but surely appreciate the update.

Greg & Max

PS -- Donna, any luck? Or did you not get a chance to try again....
