.....is this fella a breed or is he just big boned ?

According to his vet, he is a Norwegian Forest cat, however, the ones I have seen look nothing like him. TJ weighs in at a worring 11.5kilos, but he run's jumps, plays as if he was a kitten..........worryingly the vet says he is still growing !!!!

Here he is alone:

and here he is with our 5yr old Amber:

Thought as much, very odd though because the monster does have two coats, outer one is rather course and long (2-3") and he has very very soft shorter fur underneath, also big tufts between the pads of his paws........

Oh well back to the books..............:thumb:

I am starting to think he's a domestic who just happens to be 'big-boned'.....just worried that at 2years old and still growing I may have to build him a stable !!!

(whispers) He's looking at me very suspiciously atm, I think he knows I am talking about him!!

I had a kitty that was about that big. His vet said he had a lot of Maine Coon in him. Much like your big guy, he looked like a huge DSH. He had a head about the size of a softball, and huge paws, with tufts between his toes. He also grew up until about 2 years. He was a very sweet, loving guy with the meow of a tiny kitten.
TJ might be a litte chubbier than Leo was, but it is hard to tell from the pics. He is a big handsome fellow, though.

Hmmmmm, we don't get mny Maine Coons here in the UK, I saw one once, beautiful animal he was. TJ has probably grown about 6-8" in the 4 months we have had him, he demolishes a 400g's of food a day, loves blackcurrant jam on bread (the tiniest piece obviously) and is waaaaaay too vocal, he sat at the patio doors and growled at a fox one night that had strayed into our backgarden..............scared the living daylights outta me !!!!
He tends to keep himself to himself and is not really that sociable with the other two (only if there is food in the offering) Have to say though he is marvellous with the childeren, Zane (2yrs) pokes him and chases him and does all those things little boys of that age do to animals and TJ just sits there. He sleeps at the foot of our daughters bed and if you go into her room to wake her he growls at you !!!!!
