Two months ago a new kitten joined our home! It was/is a huge adjustment for our 10 year old male. At first he ignored her and ran away from her.....but now is becoming more aggressive. Tasha is very playful and is currently in heat (vet appt. on 2/9 to get her spayed) and has become very affectionate with Toby. I don't know if Toby feels threatened or what.....but he has been swatting at her, growling and today even bit poor Tasha on the head.
Any advice on what to do to help these to get along?

Thanks......

Hi Shelli, welcome to TCS.

There is not much you can do until Tasha is spayed. Is there any way you can get her in sooner? She may be trying to 'invite' Toby to mate with her and this is confusing him. I assume Toby is neutered?

You need to watch Tasha like a hawk. Her hormones are raging at the moment and she will do anything to get outside and mate, including making a dash for the door and ripping screens.
