ok, i finally decided to buy it. I went with this type, because marsh LOVES to lick dew off the glasses, so i think he'll like it. Plus, the water can be kept in it for up to a week, which is a great time saver.

The deal is pretty good too: $40/fountain plus a heavy rubber mat + $5 for 3 cartridges.

I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Here's a pic off the maker's site:

I don't want to rain on your parade, but members of another forum I'm a member of have said that the CatIt is very difficult to clean. There's a running debate there about which fountain (Drinkwell, Fresh Flow, or CatIt) is best - I guess it depends on your cat's preferences, the time you have to spend on maintenance, and the availability of spare parts (filters/motors).
At any rate, good luck with it!

I have no experience with it myself but it *looks* great!
I'm sure Marsh will love it - I think my Phineas would be in heaven if I bought him that, he LOVES running water.

I got the Cat IT for the boys a while ago, they absolutely love it! I didn't find it too hard to clean, and I just love how you can attach the food bowl onto it! Good luck! I'm sure your kitties will love it!

That does look pretty good. We had a smaller water fountain for our cats, but I hated trying to clean the thing and eventually used up the filters. It got put back in its box and put away and we went back to a big bowl that gets changed every day instead. SO much easier to do that every morning then have to take up the fountain and take it apart and scrub it out and fit it all back together. Of course, ours was not that one.. that one looks pretty cool, grin.

That looks like a cool fountain, but like the others have said, I imagine it's hard to clean. I'm using the Fresh Flow fountain for multiple cats, and the boys love it. They all have their drinking spots picked out. I've also noticed their water intake increase since I got the fountain. It's easy to clean and refill too.

I have to say, this is my first experience with a water fountain, so i'll see how it goes. I'm excited though, Marsh LOVES drinking and does it after each playing session, and at odd times during the day as well. He goes through his water dish by the end of the day (3-4oz of water daily). I think this fountain will definitely help, especially since it keeps the water clean and cold.

BTW, we're using Poland Spring instead of tap, i think it may help with cleaning, since bottled water does not have all the harsh additives the tap does.

I have a Petmate and a Catit fountain- think the Catit is great- as it has a much larger reservoir- and find it much easier to clean than the Petmate which has more parts to remove.
One cat prefers the Catit- the other the Petmate

So let us know how it goes... I'm debating on getting a water fountain for my pair. The only problem is that they're not big fans of moving water...

Ooo, i look forward to your comments on how Marsh likes it
We're limited over here in Australia (particularly Perth!) as to what is available, and this one definately is. I think we'll be picking one up in the next week or two.

THE FOUNTAIN WAS ON BACK ORDER... I called them yesterday and they said it should be in stock today and they'll ship ASAP.

So hopefully i'll have it next week... time seems to be standing still when you want something BAD

I got a deluxe fresh flow not to long ago. It is now sitting in my closet. For a water filter it seemed to get dirty rather fast. I am now searching for a new product, please let me know how this one works out for you.

We have owned the catit for about 4 months now. My cats like to drink the water that falls down the side of the bowl. They just love it! I find that it is very easy to take apart and clean.

I've been trying to decide what kind of fountain to get my cats. I hadn't even heard of the Catit fountain. I like that it's bigger and roomier. I do have a Panic Mouse, which the kitten loves. Sharper Image, of all places, has a similar toy, only you can make the entire toy move across the floor by remote control- plus the waving wand action. I think I'm going to order one from their outlet website, it's only like 20 bucks new I think.
