Ok...so my last thread was a big vent and even though I'm still mad......my spoiled little boys....Thomas and Cooper.....always have a way of making me smile.

On the nights I work, I always eat a bowl of cereal for dinner since I get home so late......I don't feel like eating anything very heavy. Well, I started this thing where I always save just a little milk in the bottom of the bowl and let the boys have it when I am done. They have gotten to where they come running as soon as they hear my fixing my cereal and so I have to go and eat it in my bedroom with the door closed.......otherwise they try to climb into the bowl.

So while I'm in my bedroom eating my cereal.....they both sit anxiously at the door waiting for me to finish. Tonight, though....Thomas was getting very impatient and was meowing loudly for me to hurry up because he wanted his little taste of milk. He was literally howling at my door and banging it with his paws. I said, "Thomas.....hush.....I'll be done in a minute......which made him howl even louder. When I finished my cereal and went to open the bedroom door.......BOTH of them were standing up on the door and came tumbling into the bedroom.
Then they were both meowing.....Thomas the loudest....and circling my feet trying to get at the bowl......I could barely walk back to the kitchen.

I have really started something here.......I wish you all could see how funny they are!

Well, Robin, I am jealous!
I eat cereal for dinner all the time and never got that kind of reaction from Mr S. Someday we will be able to link to videos really fast on threads, wouldn't that be cool!

That's so cute. I'm allergic to milk so my cats haven't had a chance (as far as I know) to taste it.

I made the mistake of giving Buddy a small taste of string cheese. He was literally climbing over me to get more. I have never seen such a reaction before, it was funny as heck.

Awww isn't that sweet!

When i have a chocolate biscuit Sophie can hear the wrapper rustling from upstairs and will be down like a shot!.

She'll sit there watching you eat it because she knows once it's gone i tie a knot in the wrapper so she can play with it!

Oh these guys are definitely a mess.
And what's funny is that they seem to know when I'm going to have cereal and when I'm not. They know that I usually eat it on the nights that I come home late from work.....so they will sometimes go sit in the kitchen and then just stare at me as if they are saying, "Hey when are you going to make the cereal?"

Thomas is becoming such a "talker" too. He just cracks me up. He always looks me right in the eye and then if I say something to him....he'll meow back to me. As long as I keep up the conversation......he will too.

I don't if any of you remember this or not, (I thought about it last night) but when he was a baby....like a week or two old....he'd do this little "screaming" thing every time I walked by the box where the kittens were. If I didn't stop to talk to him....he'd keep screaming louder and louder until it sounded like something was really wrong with him. If I DID stop to talk to him....he'd stop screaming so loud....but kept meowing and then would try to climb out of the box.

Awwwww.... it sounds like Thomas knows who his Mommy is! That's adorable.

My kitty-cat, Penelope, howls whenever she wants something to -- attention, food, treats, petting. She is spoiled too!

My kitties are the same way about cereal
Every morning I have to run to the bedroom and shut the door, and yes they come tumbling in when I open the door
I have stopped letting them have a little milk though
since I have read that most kitties are lactose intolerant. So now when I'm finished with the cereal I put the bowl on a tall dresser and take it back to the kitchen later.

I don't think ALL kitties are lactose intolerant though because I've noticed over the years with various cats.....some of them do fine with it....and some of them don't. So I usually just kinda test the waters and if they tolerate it fine....I let them have some. Although.....keep in mind....what I leave in the bottom of the bowl is probably about a teaspoon......just enough to give them a little taste. I don't want to make them sick by giving them too much.

Leo is definitely lactose intolerant. I used to let him have some of the milk left in the bottom of the bowl and he always threw up afterwards.......so now he doesn't even want it. Leo has always had a very sensitive stomach.....but what's interesting is that he seems to regulate himself. He KNOWS what he can and can't eat and so will stay away from things that make him sick. He's gotten to where he pretty much ONLY eats his dry food. He doesn't even try to eat the kitty treats, canned food, people food, or anything. Shelby will literally eat anything and never gets sick. I don't feed her people food or junk because I know it's not good for her. But every now and then I'll give her a little taste of whatever I'm eating if she seems interested.

Thomas and Cooper so far seem to do fine with the milk. Plus, I don't think I give them enough to make them sick.

O this reminds me so much of Beau. Beau has of course been seriously indulged his whole life. I have always allowed him to sit on my lap while I eat, and have fed him bits of what I eat. He even used to try to snag a bite off my fork between the plate and my mouth! Now, some folks may think that is ridiculous, that I let him do that, and there were people who told me so. But as I saw it, I live alone, and Beau is my soul-mate, and it pleases me to indulge him, and it pleases him, so why not? It did get a bit out of hand at one point, though, because his big paws were quicker than my hands in getting the fork to my mouth and I was missing WAY too many bites!
So, I sat him down and we had a *talk*. I told him that I respected his food bowl, and he needed to be more respectful of my food bowl. It worked. Ever since then (years ago) he has sat on my lap ever so politely and waited to see what I would give him, and I always give him something.

Aren't these small furry creatures a hoot?
