I woke up this morning and Kionu's left eye was completely shut and there was a pink/reddish discharge coming out of his tear duct. I immediately called Dr. Aaron and dropped Kionu off at the emergency office this morning. They called to say they're running tests and they'll get back to me in a few hours with the results. They've also rinsed his eye out to get rid of any debri and he's currently sleeping in his little cage/room. They said he's eating and drinking like normal so it might just be that he had dust or something in his eye. I'm worried he might have herpes, as my co-worker's cat has it and she said that her cat has the same eye problems all the time. Please pray that he will be okay, there are no diseases and those blue eyes will sparkle again.

I will be praying for Kionu. Isn't this the kitten you rescued from the horrible breeder?

Thanks...

Yes, he's the one I rescued from that horrible breeder. I actually have to go to court in two weeks to testify against her. Hopefully Kionu will be better by then so I can take him with me.

I hope she's O.K. - Even if kitty has herpes, it can be treated. Keep us updated.

Sending vibes, and also a big thank you for being willing to testify against her. Please keep us informed as to both Ki's progress, and the case's progress.

best-
Michele

Thanks to everyone for all your support.

It turns out Kionu had a tiny scratch on his bottom eye lid, which caused the inflamation in his eye. Dr. Aaron gave him eye ointment (Tri-Optic) to make the swelling go down and an antibiotic to prevent an infection from developing. He has to take meds for a week (3 x a day), so I get to take him to work with me. Poor thing is so sad he can't play with his brothers.

P.S. His Herpes test came back negative! Yay!

Oh, I'm so glad it's something treatable. You're taking good care of this little kitten. Thank goodness you found him and adopted him (and also that you reported and are testifying against that horrible breeder).
