I feel SO guilty, but I have to say I love Orei a bit more then Princess.
I don't know why. Maybe because the second cat is more bonded to cats, while the first is more bonded to people. Orei is also rescued. *sigh* I can't help but say that I am more bonded to Orei. Princess only comes to me for attention every once in a while, while Orei is almost always around me. Do you happen to love one of you cats a tad more then another? *sigh* I feel so bad. Am I a bad person? Am I alone in this?

I guess Mothers feel the same when they have more than one child, although I'm not a mother.

I realy can't say since I only have one cat. Although I often compare my previous cat, that has since passed, to my current cat, and I know I have more love for one than the other. So I do know what you are feeling, if that's any consolation.

I only have one little spoiled brat,,,so I cant say,, but this is one of the very reasons that I do not have another,,,,I just love Conner so much that I am not sure the second would be the same,,not that I want another(well, actually I want 10 more,LOL),,,,But my Conner is the only man for me,,,(although I do not know how my boyfriend would feel about that comment!!)

I'm with Stevie, I only have one little brat so, I dont know how I would feel having another one.. I do tend to compare Malakai to Poocha who passed away a while ago... She was a lot calmer but then again she was older... So, it's tough to truly compare... Though I remember when Pootz was still alive, my mother had gotten another cat and it wasnt the same... I totally ignored the other cat cuz Pootz was my baby girl and she wouldnt have it any other way
In fact, up until Malakai I never really thought I would love another kitten the way I loved Poocha... but Kai's my little boy...

Okay how's this... I now have two cats! Lol... it's weird, I love Bay and Max in different ways. I guess I can say that since I've had Baylee for... 5 months now and Max for a day and a half!

Anyway, I love that Max is so affectionate, that he immediately seeks out your hand and nudges you to pet him, that he crawls into your lap and just purrs and purrs...

But Baylee is so great in her own way! She gives you kisses (nose to nose), sometimes without even asking. She curls up with me when I'm sleeping (not anyone else) and likes to sleep in late whenever we have the chance. She's happy to see me when I get home and looks sad when I leave. And she's so playful... she could play for hours!

I don't think you're a bad person... maybe you just haven't realized how much you love your other cats, even if it's a small thing that they do. Does that make sense?

Pinkdaisy-I see what you mean. I wouldn't be able to compare if my cats were new guys like your two. Lets see- Princess always meow for attention and love in the cutist way. She's beautiful, and playful, and loves to rub her head against my hand. I love that about her.

Well, I love them all equally, there's not one that I love more than the others... but I do find myself playing favourites a bit with Meeko and Phineas over Esmeralda and Henry - it's not because I love Meeko and Phineas more, just that they're much more cuddly and attached to me, where as Essie and Henry are much more independent. I do feel very guilty about it though, and try my best not to do it.

Aw, I don't think you should feel bad if you love one more than another. That is just how it is sometimes. I only have one cat, my Beau, but I also have a dog, a Border Collie named Jes. I adore Jes and would do anything for him, and he is an excellent dog, but Beau is my soul mate and not only does he have seniority (15 years to Jes's year and a half being with me) but I love Beau more than I have ever loved any animal in my life. No matter what animal companions I have in the future, I cannot imagine loving one as much as I do Beau ever again. Sometimes there is just a special bond. Nothing wrong with that, in fact it is beautiful.

I know what you mean. I love all my babies dearly, but there is a special bond between me and Cindy. She's the one who comes to me for cuddles and scolds me when I won't stop what I'm doing to mush with her. She's the one who likes being picked up (sometimes
). She's the one who sleeps on ME rather than merely on the bed. Etc Etc. Fawn and Suzy are happy to take a scritch, and come to say hello when they've been outside, and sometimes when I come home. But it's Cindy that I really have a bond with. I try to be fair with everyone -- for instance, there's no favouritism around food or treats -- but I sometimes feel a little guilty about the amount of attention Cindy gets, and then I remember that she's the one who asks for it, and who laps it up. I don't think you need to feel bad if you have a special bond with one baby.

I love and adore my boys, but I'm ashamed to admit that Miko is and will always be my favorite. Being my first pet (I had him since I was 16 yrs old), he is incredibly spoiled. He knows he's the King and flaunts it excessively. He's also my "boyfriend tester". If my a guy can't get along with Miko, well then...there's the door buddy and don't let it hit you on the way out!

Well... you all know that I only have Dinah. Which is fine with me.

As for mothers of children.. I can speak on that. I have 2 boys. And it's different. I have different bonds with both boys. Both boys (just like cats, I guess) are incredibly different and have their own completely separate personalities...so, I bond with both on different levels, but I love them equally. Does that make sense? My boys are the absolute loves of my life!!

Hi Jenny!

14 here, and while I love all of them to death, I do have my favorites. You can't help but singling out 1 (or more) to be your favorites.

I'm asked all the time how I manage sharing the love with 14 cats. Since all of mine were strays or ferals, many are unadoptable to a "normal" person. I open up my house and life to them and give them what they need. They come to me when they want attention and I never turn them away, even if it means sitting quietly with 8 cats piled on my body. But some of them just do it in a way that tugs my heartstrings more so than others.

My favorites? Muddy, Scarlett, and Stumpy. If anyone ever wants to understand which are your own favorites, think in terms of "if I was forced to get ride of my cats tomorrow and if I could only keep a few, which ones would it be?". Someone asked us that question a few weeks ago and my husband and I agonized over it. He added Koko to the list. I hope I never have to face that decision.

Don't feel guilty!
