Gosh I just slept the entire afternoon away! I told you all that stuff knocks me out!
I woke up and didn't know if it was 5:30 at night or 5:30 in the morning.

Anyway......during my colonoscopy....my doctor did find a polyp and went ahead and cut it out to send to the lab for analyisis. He said it was fairly small and he doesn't think it looks cancerous. He also did a couple of biopsies in other areas of my intestines......so I'm having a little bleeding tonight.

When I first got home, I was cramping and hurting so bad that I couldn't stand up straight......but that seems to be better now. I got my daughter to go through the Arby's drive-thru and I got a chicken club wrap sandwich and an apple turnover. YUM! They tasted SO good after not eating for almost 2 days!

I'm just glad that it's over. I'll let you all know if anything interesting comes up with the biopsies or the polyp.

Thanks for everyone's support yesterday and today! You all are the BEST!

I'm glad that it's over for you. It's funny that you mentioned Arby's. That's what my husband had me get after his. When we were waiting in the room after the procedure. I had to ask the doctor if he could have Arby's. He said, "Well, if he has to" but I'd prefer if he kept it light. So, he had I think three Beef and Cheddars and curly fries
I'm glad your belly is full again.

Robin, I'm glad you got through it! Sending positives your way and hoping the doctors don't find anything to be concerned about!

That's funny that he wanted Arby's too! Must be something in the drugs they give that make you crave Arby's!

Miss Robin! I had no idea you were going through this magnitude of stuff!
But then again, I was hanging out with some MRI guys myself.
I am SO GLAD to hear it was just a polyp but goodness!!! I Glad you slept that long, your body obviously needed to recharge a lot. Please keep us posted and I am sending super vibes to you now.
Love,
Elizabeth

It's a conspiracy between the drug manufacturer and Arby's!
They want us to eat Arby's
I'll call the 20/20 reporters now!!! You don't mind if they film a re-enactment (spelling) of your day for the story do you?

Thanks....yeah I was happy it was just one polyp too. The thing that worries me a little is that polyps are what turn into cancer later. So even though he got this one......I worry that I may get another one. He didn't tell me today about scheduling future colonoscopies......but I'm sure that's something I'll have to begin to do routinely. I think they like for you to do it every 3 years if they find a polyp.

Oh sure....no problem Chris.....let me just order some more of that wonderful drink I had yesterday and do it all over again.

The funny thing is.....while I was waiting in the pre-procedure room in my hospital gown......one of the doctors who I just love....came in to see one of his patients. He saw me and said, "What are YOU doing here?" I told him what I was having done and he said he needed to have it done also....but has been putting it off. It's kind of embarrassing in a way to be there as a patient in the hospital I work at and see all these people that I know.

Since we are on the hospital topic..
Do you find it embarrasing for a male doctor to attend you?? i mean if they see you naked?

Robin, I'm so glad it's over and that they only found a small polyp. Keep us posted on any developments.

No not at all. One thing you have to realize, is that those of us in the medical field don't view "nudity" the same as other people......at least not while we're working. I see naked people every single day that I work and it's just no big deal.......it's my job.

My GI doctor, (gastrointestinal specialist) always has a lot of patients on my floor.....so I see him quite often in the work context......so in that respect....it's a little weird to have someone I KNOW putting a scope up my butt!
But he's a really good doctor and I have confidence in him.....so that's what really matters.

Robin so pleased your home as well!!

Sending ((((vibes)))) that the polyp is nothing, and if it means that you have to have regular checks then so be it!, at least that way (God forbid) if aything does crop up it can be caught straight away.
