I am rarely home ALL DAY...I'm either at school or work. So today Franz and Maddie are giving me perplexed looks. They think it's feeding time all day... "can food please, we are not in the mood for the dry today!" I've given them new names today..Franz is now, Starvin' Marvin, and Maddie has become Fattie Maddie...she had become a bit rotund of late. Are your cats perplexed when your schedule changes?

Yeah, Malakai got used to me being out all day when I was spending 24/7 with Adrian but now that we've been spending some time apart he's not used to having me home so he's been following me around the house lol...What's even funnier was when we were living in NJ for a while he got used to Adrian being around all the time and when he wasnt there Kai would run right past me looking for him... It's great when your cat runs past you for someone else lol...

No, they just act bored with it all or are happy to have me here and come for more hugs and declarations of my love, their beauty and perfectness, etc.

They get extra kisses and caresses.

Oh man, Trent definitely gets messed up with changes to the schedule. Holidays and being sick always messes him up - he still thinks I should get up at the same time. He knows 5 days I go to work, come home for an hour for lunch, then go back to work. If I don't come home for lunch, Earl definitely hears about it. He knows that two days I don't go to work, I usually spend at least one full day at home with him. He's actually pretty smart.

Yes.....mine are that way too. Especially with me being a nurse....I usually work 3 days a week....so often I am off work for several days in a row. The kitties get used to having me home, (and spoiled) so when I am back at work and don't get home until 8:00 at night......they (mainly Cooper) follow me around like shadows as if they are afraid I'm going to leave again.

There's no place like home
I work from home a lot so I don't really have a fixed schedule for them to follow. But I did rearrange the living room furniture yesterday which I hadn't done in about 2-3 years. Half the critters in the house have never seen the furniture arranged that way and man did they go bonkers on me! Climbing on the backs of the sofa and recliners. Leaping off and running full tilt up the cat tree, just to leap down, run thru the hall and back on top of the sofa or chairs. It went on for hours!

IA. If you need me, just meow..
I don't have a set schedule. Brad does. The cats are used to him pretty much leaving in the am and coming home, playing with them and then he will leave again. Me on the other hand, I leave at different times everyday and they are used to that also. If I'm off, I usually stay home all day though. Now that's different for them. They seem to like it though. I have to space heaters on high all day and the house gets EXTRA toasty when I'm home. Heats set on 71 and the space heaters are on high. (I hate cold drafts. Heck, I just hate the cold al together!)

No, Sasha is so laid back that he just rolls with it. Although if Eric is super late he will go sit by the door and wait for him like a dog. Saba has only been with us 1 week and she's just all over the place.

Mine always seem to know when i'm going to leave them when i go to work, but if ever i'm on holiday with them they seem to love it more, especially Sophie because she's a snuggle bug and would sit on my lap all day if she could

Loving my beautiful baby girl
Even as erratic as my schedule is, Sierra always knows if I'm getting up to go to work, if I'm just running errands, or just to be at home. Whatever shift I work, day or night, she knows when I'll arrive home. Last night, for instance, I had a change of schedule and got off early. When I arrived home, she was still in the bedroom asleep instead of at the door to greet me as usual. She knows when to expect me normally, so I surprised her a bit. Routine is so important to our babies, and she knows my routine so well whatever it is that I'm doing! My baby girl is so smart!

Jamie always watches me in the morning - If I get up early, shower right away, and put on make-up, he knows I'm going to leave him, and complains (yowls). If I go downstairs in my robe, pour a cup of coffee, and start reading the newspaper, he purrs and purrs ("Mommy is staying home with me!"). He also checks out my desk. I have to get up at 5:00 or 5:30 four days a week, and rather than wake up my husband (late or night shift at the hospital), I put the clothes I'm going to wear in the morning on my desk in the upstairs study, where I can grab them without turning lights on. When he sees me putting my clothes out, he complains, too. This is a cat that is rarely alone for more than half a day, three times a week, because of our different schedules, but he thinks somebody should be home with him all the time. This week he really has it "rough": three hours alone today, tomorrow and Wednesday. That's it. "Daddy" has to work on the weekend, which means I'll be home the whole time. This crazy cat also knows what time to expect me home in the afternoon, although it's different almost every day. He sits in the kitchen window and waits. If I'm late, and Daddy's home, he goes and hangs on to him until I get home, and gives me the "cold shoulder" - he's "Daddy's cat" for at least an hour. Just let anybody tell me that cats can't "reason".

Ivo hates it when my schedule changes. If I come home after my regular time (6-7) I get yelled out. If I'm early she's still sleeping on the bed and doesn't greet me. She's got weekends pretty figured out, but did notice I was home all day Saturday.
