There's a squirrel who's been living in the vent next to my kitchen window ever since I've lived here - she had a nest of babies there last spring, so the super didn't want to call the exterminator on her, so he just boarded up the vent on the inside so that she can't get into my apartment, and she's been there ever since. I've named her Bitey (a la the oppossum (sp?) who takes up residence in the monorail when Homer becomes a monorail conductor on 'The Simpsons'), and I've often seen her coming and going across my windowsills, but until today she'd never actually stopped there. For some reason today, though, she decided to stop and eat what looked like a piece of a bagel on one of the windowsills, and Phineas and Henry got to take a close look at her!

"What *is* that thing?!"

"And what's it doing on MY windowsill?!"

"Hey, Phineas, do you know what it is?"

"Nope!"

"Well maybe if I take a closer look..."

"Here, let me get a closer look, too..."

"Look, Phineas, there's another one up there!" (Apparently, Bitey has a boyfriend - I noticed just today that another squirrel was up there as well!)

"Do you two mind, I'm trying to eat!"

"Are they finally gone?"

"Finally, I can finish my bagel in peace!"

The End!

She actually didn't react to them sitting there staring at her (or me doing the same and taking a bunch of pictures!) at all! Maybe she can't see/smell us through the window? Or else maybe she's just used to us by now, I don't know, but she just sat there calmly munching away on her bagel!

It's as if the squirrel was actually taunting your babies...too cute!

It was really nice of your super not to get rid of the squirrel & her babes!
