If I remember right, you do NOT want to drink anything with red food coloring.

I dont remember how long it took but they gave me a drug to make me drowsy but still coherent enough to listen and do what they tell you to do.
They told me I would wake up and not remember a thing though. Nothing about being slightly awake during the procedure. I just hope I didnt say or do anything embarrassing. But I will never know.

I only had some pain in my abdomen from whatever they run through your intestines to look. Not terribly bad, I think I had pain pills or took tylenol maybe.

At this point Bobbie....it's hard to think of WHAT I want to eat tomorrow....because right now...I want ANYTHING!!!
I'd probably be happy with the cat food right now.

I'm drinking some coffee right now. Coffee is supposed to work as an appetite supressant....so that's what I am hoping.

I have about 30 more minutes before I start drinking the gross stuff.

Cherry coke may not be good, probably just clear sodas.

I think she's talking about after the procedure. But you're right....nothing with red food coloring because it could look like blood in the intestines.

The drug they usually give is called Versed and it's a drug like Valium.....only a lot stronger.

I've been drinking the gross stuff now for almost 2 hours. I should have been finished with it by now.....but it's just making me feel nauseated so I can't drink it very fast.

Thank goodness it's almost 8:00pm.....I can go to sleep soon. (well maybe.....if I don't have to keep getting up every few minutes)

I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hungry!!

) ok i will stop talking about food now. I am sure I am not being very helpful

Trust me.....you talking about the cinnamon rolls is nothing compared to what I've been thinking about all day!

I think what I want tomorrow afternoon is a chicken chimichanga with rice and beans and chips and salsa from my favorite Mexican restaraunt.

Good luck Robin! I hope everything turns out ok. I suffer from IBS too, so I know how you feel.

I'm so sorry you have to drink that horrible stuff. I have IBS too and anytime I had to do that prep for any kind of scope I always ate a whole lot of the things I normally couldn't eat before hand, like cheesecake, knowing that the prep would take care of everything. Good luck!

Girls, I had to eat that stuff AFTER my surgery...the day of my surgery and until the day after. It was horrible! I had bullion, sprite, and orange jello for dinner....finally the next day after i wasn't so sick anymore, and they let me have crackers with my bullion. I thanked the lord at that moment for such a small favor. LOL

Best of luck with the surgery

Thanks Susie.

I'm already up.......got up early so I could have a cup of coffee so I won't get such a bad caffeine headache later. My procedure is at 10:00, so the instructions said I can't have anything at all 6 hours beforehand......so I just got up early to have my coffee.

I'm so incredibly hungry this morning. I can't wait for this to be over!

I had a bad time last night before I went to bed. I started feeling SO sick and a couple of times while I was up in the bathroom, I broke out in a sweat and almost passed out. It was awful and it scared me. I was literally drenched in sweat and had to turn on my ceiling fan and just lay there for awhile until I started feeling better. I even started carrying my cell phone to the bathroom with me in case I passed out or something so I could call my daughter to come home.

Ohhh, I"m sorry to hear you had such a rough night. Were you sick to your stomach because you were emptying your bowels maybe? Did it give you like a diareaha? (SP) Not such a nice topic for so early, but I know I get all sweaty sometimes when I have a belly ache when I'm trying to "go".

Yeah I'm sure that's what it was.....and at one point I felt like I was going to throw up and the same time I was sitting on the pot! I came so close to passing out that it was all I could do to get back to the bed and just lay really still. I hope I never have to go through this again......but I'm sure I will at some point. I just hope that it's not for a REALLY long time!
