A friend sent me the "Kitties go Hunting, Kitties go Fishing" DVD for Christmas and I was pleasantly surprised by their reaction to it! The video shows clips of birds, mice, bugs, and other fun stuff wiggling on the screen.

Here are Koko and Pinky engrossed in the video. My camera ran out of memory for the next picture I missed, with the 2 of them standing on their hind legs batting at the TV screen. If your wondering, they are sitting on the dog bed.

Is this funny or what?

Hi, Amy! That's too funny! I've always wanted to get my cats one of those videos, but figured I would be wasting my money. Your cats are sure enjoying it.

That is great! I need to get that for my crew....I bet they would enjoy it.

Thomas's favorite show right now is Jimmy Neutron. He runs to the TV every time Nikki is watching it.

The DVD has created a bad trend with Koko. She always watches TV these days waiting for the birds and mice to reappear. I keep telling her it's going to ruin her eyes but she just doesn't listen to me!

We moved the living room furniture around yesterday and put a recliner next to the TV. She has now claimed that chair as her own!

Yes, I got my cats a kitty TV DVD as well. Its called "Catsitter". They love it! They watch, and bat at the TV for hours. Sometimes they like it, other times not as much. You need a room that isn't distracting.

That is SO cute! I can't believe they're actually watching it, I always assumed those things wouldn't really work - obviously I was wrong!

Buddy enjoyed watching the fish screen saver I have, but it results in him walking on the keyboard which *I* dont like. With my luck he will find the backdoor code to format windows instantly or at least delete something with his little kitty toes. He also likes to watch tv sometimes while laying on my lap, but I have not figured out exactly what his favorite show is yet. I think he is loosing interest now that he has more of the house to play in. Maybe I will hook up the VCR for him and get out some Time Life animal videos next time he has to be alone.

My Stumpy laid across my laptop computer one time. I usually close the lid when I walk away from it but forgot *one* time. He managed to hit the delete key, then the "Y" key to confirm delete. What's the odds for that happening?

He took out an entire folder which I couldn't recover because it was about 38 meg worth of data and recover doesn't work on something that large. Of course it was my work computer and I lost about 3 years worth of work in one fell swoop. Fortunately I was able to recreate it over time from backups and files that I had sent to others. Our PC support guys were not pleased when I asked them to help recover the files from memory, particularly the story about "my cat ate my homework".

I like the cats watching TV. Mine do that if it's wildlife programmes, but only if they can hear the other animals/birds making a noise. Daisy also anjoyed a series on space back along, which had lots of shiny things making beeping noises.

But do tell, you can actually get videos to entertain cats?? Where from?

Mine was given to me as a gift, but just did a Google search and found the company that makes them:

http://www.petqwerks.com/products.htm

And yes, mine do watch them! Last night a Sprint PCS commercial came on that had the guy with the spinning halo over his head. Koko leaped at the TV trying to get the halo. And my husband's comment to her? "Koko, you'll ruin your eyes!".
