Well I knew this would happen sooner or later. Hampster bit me 2 days ago. The reason was she had food in her mouth from the trash. She bit me good.

So far the infectin isnt real bad, just hurts and a little swelled. The swelling isnt bad and hasnt gotten worse, but some of my fingers hurt and my wrist. I bought some neosporin and bandages and been keeping it clean.

It if gets worse in any way Im heading for the hospital, but all is good and well darn brats would rather go trash diggn than eat their food. So we are buying a trash can with a lid soon.

Right now hissy I cant. I have no money, no way of getting money, and no inssurance of any kind. Doctors around here aint to nice and good to help out.
Mostly I have to rule out the elbow and wrist pain since those have been hurting to much from game play.

I know I sould see a doctor but like I said no way of getting money. Money is the hardest theing to get right now with a low pay Robert is getting from this crappy job.

Definitely go to a doctor! Our last cat (a long-time feral) bit me in the calf when I was trying to put him in a carrier for a vet's appointment, and I was on antibiotics for 6 months before the infection cleared up.

I'm not Hissy of course, but...
Sending healing vibes your way.

Does your hospital have a charity care program you can sign up for? If it does you maybe able to get your treatment for free or at a reduced rate.

Ashley, please do go to the hospital or a doctor as soon as possible. Cat bites can be extremely serious and if you are seeing swelling... well, that really is not a good sign. If you get it checked out now you may very well prevent a medical situation that could be much, much more expensive.
Definitely ask the hospital about any charity progams you might be eligible for.

I dont see swelling just feels tighter when I close my hand. Their are no charities here. A crappy town.My hand is hurting , the red area around the bite wound isnt getting bigger it is the same as last night, just my hand is so sore. I hope I dont need a tet. shot. I hate shots. I had a tet shot a lil over 5 yrs ago when I broke up a dog fight and my pup bit me by mistake. I would rather go through the dog bite again than this. I WANNA CRY. im scared.

Ashley, no public hosp can refuse you care. All have set aside funds for what they call indigent (sp) care. You literally can lose your hand/arm if the infection worsens and you can become septic (blood poisoning) and DIE! Please go to the ER now!

Hi sweetie!!
I DO Hope you got to the Hospital, and I would not be surprised if they admitted you!!! My dear cat Spike, bit me in August, when I intercepted my daughter's 2 dogs running down the hall toward the cat. They were NOT after him (they were after their ball!), but Spike thought they were coming after him and he was JUST ready to attack them. I (without thinking) scooped him up and he became SO hysterically frightened he just totally attacked me and bit me up so, so badly!! I went to my Dr. and got on an antibiotic (Zithromax) the next day, but by 3 days later, my hand looked like a big red water balloon and the other one was following closely!!
So, I went to the ER (I have a $2500 deductible on my insurance, with no doctor office bills, or ER covered at all, or prescriptions....). But, I was in such misery and was getting really scared!! They admitted me for several days and I was on antibiotic IV's every 4 hours around the clock. Then sent home with a month of strong antibiotics(Doxycycline) too, and a plastic surgeon was following up on it, to decide whether to do plastic surgery!!(YIKES!) I did not end up having to have surgery--but it was close!! --WHEW!!!
So, I strongly suggest now to anyone, that if you get bitten, to get IMMEDIATELY to a doctor for a STRONG antibiotic, as their saliva has a variety of germs that are foreign to human beings systems, and will be a 50/50 chance EVERY bite--every time, if it gets infected!!
Hope you are getting better now--post here again, when you can, OK??

Ashley, if you are under 18 years old you are eligible for state sponsored health insurance. Ask at the hospital. In California it is called Healthy Families, but in other states it may have other names, but all states have a program. You may be eligible for the free program or for a monthly fee of $4-9. Good luck with this, cat bites can be so bad sometimes. You deifntly need medical advice to deal with that and to have it seen by a professional.
