DERRICK got mad cause I sent him out of the class (after having moved him 3 times for talking when the others were working).
The last time I sent him to ISS to talk to Mr. Allen. He left the room, saying, "Shut up, with your big butt."
He either said that or, "Shut up with your black butt," but as I am not black, I don't think that was it.
Laraya and Sierra and ShaTyria and Rashonda all heard him.
Is my butt big?

I know I've gained weight, but I still only weigh 84!

You only weigh 84 lbs?!?!?!?!?!?

I think you are far from having a big butt but need to go have a "BIG BURGER!"

How old are these kids? Don't worry about it, all kids use name calling to look "cool" in front of their classmates.

BTW - I wish I only weighed 84lbs!

I'm sure you're butt is NOT bit

If that's all he said, be thankful. My aunt was a teacher for about 30 years and in the last 5 or 6 she had kids kick her, spit on her and hit her. Count yourself lucky.

He needs to learn his colors and his sizes all over again! I'm sorry. Don't take it personal, it's just a kid striking out in frustration.

At 84 lbs, I hardly think you would have a 'big butt'.. on the other hand... having a 'big butt' is a good thing to alot of people...'junk in the trunk' so to speak...

How about posting a picture and we can judge for ourselves? You can trust us to be fair and honest.

Under the cats, mostly.
Aw sweetie that is utterly disgraceful! There is no way you shoudl have to put up with that behaviour from ANYONE... least of all a student! I'ts true that kids today have no respect - and that's all to do with the way parents and teachers are NOT allowed to discipline them. I asked a group of boys to keep down the foul language for a couple of seconds while my son and I passed because I didn't want my 4 year old to pick up those words... the replied with "F you you stuck up b1tch!" at 30 decibels. I did place a complaint at the high school - it's bad enough that they scream and yell all the way past the back of my house every day and drop litter in my garden, but no-one should have that language inflicted upon them in such a manner. It turns out that the school staff are not allowed by law to do anything because they a) weren't on school grounds, b) were on a lunch-break and that is now no longer cvered as school hours and c) they're not even permitted to raise their voices at kids either. You can't shout, you can't belt them one (which I would dearly have loved to), you can't give them detention because it's an infringement on their right to free time, same goes for extra homework. So where are they being disciplined?! Our government has focussed so much on the kids that they've really made the teaching staffs' work incredibly difficult. The kids are brought up knowing their own rights and knowing that you can't do anything about it - so basically they walk all over adults. They grow up very arrogant. It was only six years ago that I left school, but even then, none of us would have dared even think about talk to an adult in such a fashion! Bring back the belt I say, and give them the shock of their lives! I say ignore the little punk and if all else fails.... flunk him as Cirque suggested, then let him wonder why. Send him back a few years to sit with much younger kids.... tell him that if he's going to act like a spoilt 4 year old, he'll be treated as one until he grows up.

Ugh, that stinks. Sorry that kid was a punk, OBVIOUSLY he didn't know what he was talking about!

When he's older, I feel he might be a very picky guy... especially if he considers a woman who weighs 84 lbs having a big butt!

Did you really mean to type 184 pounds? Then it makes more sense for the student to say "Shut up, with your big butt." He never should have said that at all, but at least his comment would make more sense.

And again, I hope I haven't offended you myself, but I am concerned if you really only weight 84 pounds.

Lorie, if memory serves me correctly, Bobbie has had/is haveing some health issues and has had at least one surgery, all resulting in a tremendous weight loss. Bobbie, correct me if I'm wrong here, please?

I'll jump on that bandwagon. Thursday morning I was kicked, punched, and spit at, and called an idiot by a 6-year old. Some days I just LOVE my job!

It is amazing what kids get away with saying and doing.....when I was going to grade school if I had said something like that I would have been spanked. Nowadays the teachers can't do that. I actually do not think that teachers should be allowed to inflict corporal punishment on the students - that is the parents' decision. But it seems to me that kids have a lot less respect for adults than I was expected to have when I was a kid, which wasn't all that long ago!

Where do you teach?
I cannot believe how kids talk these days>
I think the parents are a lot of the problem.
