Is your significant other a cat person? Does he/she LOVE cats as much as you do?

Good question

Mine loves our cats, but not so much other cats. He "likes" cats a lot, but is more of a dog person

He prefers cats over dogs.
But i classify him as a wolf.
he reminds me of one.
He says he prefers not to have any animals at all, but he was the one to get me a cat so i was very happy

he gets very jealous when i pay attention to the cat more than him

I am currently single. However, my previous partners have all loved cats, and dogs, as much as I do. It is not a requirement for me in order to be with someone that they love them as much as I do, although it is certainly a huge plus if they do. But it IS a requirement that they be as loving and kind and respectful to them as I am, that they have the right attitude, and that they are 100% supportive of my treatment, training, and health care of my animals.
Anything less, even if it is one comment that seems a little "off" to me, and that person will not even be considered for dating. The animals are too important to me. They are my family, and they are here to stay. Beau has been through two marriages with me and he is the one who is still here in bed with me each night!
(love that cat!)

If asked directly if he likes cats, Hubby won't come out and admit it - "they're OK, I guess"
, but he's very gentle and affectionate with our cats, and will stop & pet strange cats we pass walking on the street, and friends' cats. I know he loves them, but just won't say it for some reason - he loves all animals.

He adores them, but like me, also likes dogs. I grew up loving dogs & cats equally (because we always had one or two of each).

I wouldn't be with someone who didn't like cats. If I ever saw anyone hitting or being nasty towards my cats, they'd get backhanded and shoved out my door!

It was actually always HIM trying to convince ME to get a cat!
I always liked cats, but I thought I was a dog person. Until our two came into our lives...

I'm more vocal about loving cats in public, but he certainly won't deny it and he spoils them almost as much as I do.

Robert always claims that he can "live without pets", but every pet we've had has adored him, and he once risked his life to save a drowning German Shepherd in a flooded river. He finds cats less trouble than dogs, but more expensive by the pound. However, he makes no objection to the amount I spend on food, furniture, toys, litter, vet care, etc., so I figure he must be a cat person.

Truthfully, I think Charlie loves them just as much as I do, although he accuses me of 'spoiling' them, he's just as bad at it, or even worse!

My wife loves our cats almost as much as I do. She has always wanted a dog. I love all animals, but I don't want a dog. Give me another BIG cat anyday....like maybe my cougar
My wife gets jealous at times, she says I pay more attention to our cats, especially the bobcats, then I do her. I tell her hey, how can you not love these furry kids? Of course I tell her I love her too, very much

My husband says he hates all of my animals but in reality he adores the kittys much more than the dogs. Well, except Niki my Border Collie. She acts like a cat and that warms his heart.

He is an animal person. We have two cats. Simon is definitely "mine" and Max loves everyone but is more "his". He'd never admit it, but he adores that cat! At night he'll go find him and bring him in the bed with us. He finally figured out that since he's been doing that Max is now trained to come get in the bed. Well, Max wants to lay right between us so he can have scritches from everyone! Too funny!

The first time I went to my BF's apartment (when we were first dating) I told him that I noticed his window screen was not attached to the frame in the corner. He said that he knew. I wondered why he didn't just fix it. A little while later a black & white cat sauntered in through the screen opening. I said "I didn't know you had a cat!" He said "It's not mine. My landlord won't let him in the house, so I let him sneak in here." I thought that was the sweetest thing!

This from a man who says he never had a pet. He rescues squirrels, throws the crust from his lunch sandwich to the birds, and LOVES my cats. I even hear him having long conversations with them when I'm in the other room.

He would like to get a dog someday...I don't know...maybe when we get a bigger place...I don't know though. One of the cats only has 3 legs. I'd hate for him to be intimidated.

Yes, my boyfriend LOVES cats. I don't think I could date a man who didn't like cats to some degree. But he's a kitty freak just like myself. We disagre on the declawing subject but thats minor.

hmm.. does he love cats as much as I do? Well.. I don't think he's ever thrown a birthday party for his kitty like I have.. But if he's willing to let me make his kitty a Halloween Cape... then Yes.
